We visited this lodge for two nights on our honeymoon almost 2 years ago and i have been meaning to write a review for ages.

What a place, we were greeted on arrival and had a 3 course lunch overlooking the infinity pool and watering hole. The food was delicious and the view spectacular.

We had a room overlooking the watering hole and my favourite part of our stay was waking up in the morning and sitting on our decking having tea and coffee overlooking the view. The sounds from all the wildlife early in the morning is just wonderful.

We did both a horse back ride and a boat trip during our stay and I would recommend both. The horses are well looked after and I liked how the guys who took us out very much cared for the Well being of the horses with my husband being a novice rider. We got to see lots of wildlife including my favourite animal 'the warthog' a strange choice but I love their 'sticky up' tails when they run! The boat trip was also fantastic and we saw loads of hippos and different birds.

The owners were so friendly and welcoming and I would recommend this as a must stay if you are visiting Uganda. One bit of advice would be if you are using this place as a stop over on your way to the gorillas don't just book one night. Due to driving times you will probably arrive there late and then have to leave early the next morning to ensure you arrive at your destination in daylight. Once you get there you will be bitterly disappointed that you have to leave so soon. Thankfully from reading reviews and from looking at the website we stayed 2 nights, and I was still disappointed to be leaving.

Mihingo is in a wonderful location in a rocky area.

I stayed in a tent named klipspringer. and really after check in on the way to the room/tent I saw a couple of these small antelopes The view from the tent was spectacular. Please be careful and don't let any food in the tent. The monkeys in the area will find it.

The hotel has a small pool close to the bar and the dinning area. From the dinning area you have a view to a waterhole. You can see a lot of animals such as Zebras, Waterboks, Eland etc.
Close to the lodge they have installed a hide. From there you have an even better view to the waterhole.

The food served was of good quality and tasty. The management and all the staff are very friendly and taking care about their guests. There is no public internet available in the lodge. But if you want to do an online checkin for your flight you have to ask the management and the y will allow you to use the computer in their office.

My personal highlight was the walking safari which started at the lodge.

We stayed at Mihingo for two nights as part of our first ever trip to Africa. Located on a small hill at the edge of Lake Mburo National park, the rooms are tent-"houses" but I promise you've never stayed in tents like these! The staff were very friendly and did their utmost to make our stay enjoyable, and the spectactular views from nearly any location at the lodge made the experience unique. The lodge offers a variety of Safaris: night-time, by horse, on foot and more. It is also kid-friendly although probably not ideal for toddlers (ours were 6 and 10).

Mihingo Lodge is constructed of stone. All the roomy, and very comfortable cottages are thus
quite unique. It has a superb location overlooking a waterhole and Lake Mburo National Park. There is also a swimming pool.
The staff s very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, and I can remember dining on some excellent Ugandan lamb. The breakfasts and lunches were also very enjoyable.
The views were outstanding. I can remember seeing quite a number of bushbabies at night.I also took a fascinating walking safari with a Ugandan ranger.
I enjoyed chatting with the other guests at the bar. All of whom loved Uganda, and Mihingo lodge.
I urge anyone considering making Mihingo a one-night stopover on their way to Entebbe or Kampala,to please stay here two nights. It is certainly worthwhile, and between walking, relaxing.beautiful scenary, as well as bird and a sufficient amount of wildlife to stay here for two nights.

We stayed mainly to break up the drive from Bwindi to Entebbe at the end of our safari not knowing how much Mihingo deserved at least 2 nights. We loved it so much it felt a huge shame to be leaving so quickly after arriving. The drive from Bwindi took most of the day and we really only arrived in time to do a bit of a game drive on the way into the park and then shower and go to dinner. And then out again after an early breakfast, very sad to be heading away already!

The tent/rooms are huge and the built-into-the-rock bathrooms are such a great design. Someone below mentioned it being like the Flintstones and I second that! The main lodge is lovely also with a great view over the savannah and a water hole where we watched a herd of impala drinking in the evening. There's a nice pool and a very comfy bar area.

We would've loved to have taken advantage of some of the activities that are offered - a nature walk and horseback riding, for example. Again, what a bummer to have such a short visit!

The food was excellent, the staff very friendly, and the managers Richard and Clemmie were lovely. Really, I can't say enough about Mihingo and would definitely stay again and for at least 2 nights but hopefully longer!

Mihingo is in a superb location on the top of a rocky hill .The views from the individual bandas are extensive and out across open bush. You are given the impression of being alone in Africa. The dining area and bar overlooks a water hole, so you don't have to bounce about for hours if you don't want to for game viewing and can have your binoculars in one hand and a beer in the other. There is a small pool to cool off and the whole place is charmingly run by Clemmie and her husband who make you feel at home and a valued guest.

Top attraction for me was to be able to ride out into the bush. On a horse you become part of the animal life and get in amongst the animals. This is a rare treat and one well worth paying the extra for.

The whole place is only 5 hours from Kampala so accessible on a short trip or weekend. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Lastly don't leave anything edible in your room as the monkeys will find it!

Room Tip: You can look east or west. Decide if you want to see the sun-rise or sun-set from your veranda.

Mihingo Lodge is really nice and really different. It has a beautiful view from your room or restaurant of an active water hole that big game animals use. fodd was excellent as was hospitallity. My only caution would be the number of steps. If you don't do steps well as for a room close to the restaurant. Imagine Africa arranged our stay at Mihingo and we were very pleased that they did.
