We have never ridden a horse on our own but Chris the owner was very reassuring and extremely friendly. My children enjoyed themselves as we weave through a forest, led by Chris on foot. The animals on the farm are well behaved and well-taken care of. There were quite a few varieties to keep my children entertained while we go round the park, feeding them. There is a cafe in the park that offered wholesome food. Truly a splendid way to spend half a day, before heading to the thermal springs.

We visited the farm park for the second time this year...such an amazing wee place! Loved it...all the interactions with the animals...the ducks and hens and chicks following us around...looking for their food...and the wee bags of food - proper food!...the Donkey shouting away! the Goat with his head stuck in the fence for fun! The Emu doing acrobats with his neck! The Alpaca spitting! The Beautiful, Elegant Horse! But, my absolute favourite was meeting Lickey - the Deer...such a beautiful animal! She was all lips and tongue - well suited to her name! My daughter loved the morning...finished off with an icecream...we will be back!

A group of 4 of us went on a road trip to NZ South Island during June to celebrate our graduation from university. It was winter, the road was hard to travel on with all the snow, but we just cannot miss some farm activities since that's what NZ is famous for! We were greeted warmly from the farm owners and proceeded to purchase tixs for our tour. We wanted to get two packets of feeds to share to experience some hand-feeding of the farm animals. We were surprised that the owners gave us additional two packets of feed! It was certainly a very kind gesture. We went about checking out the many animals. It was really enjoyable even for us few who are in our twenties. Great experience indeed! Had a chat with the female owner on some farm knowledge and ended off with her taking a group photo of us all at some really nice and beautiful spots. It was certainly a good choice for family and friends to experience a day of laid back fun with the animals and its a place not to be missed if you're passing by Hanmer Springs! Cheers! :)
