“Friendly Service”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

My husband and I called in here to pick up something for a picnic lunch. The staff were very helpful in providing containers for our take out food that we could easily take to our picnic spot and could easily eat out of also. Just a little something to add to an already beautiful sunny day. Thanks

“Definitely worth a visit if you are a tourist looking for a light meal/coffee in Cambridge”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

This is a destination spot for tourists. The atmosphere is terrific, the gift shop offers a tasteful selection of souvenirs and you can get a great coffee and some tasty refreshments there. It is a great "breaking the journey" type place and practically on State Highway 1 (the main North Island road). The food is of the tasty sandwiches, savouries, pies, and delicious cakes and cookies type cut in generous servings. All real dinkum Kiwi good hearty food with a gourmet flavour.

By the way: tipping is not standard in NZ.

“Quaint, cute and great food.”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

This old renovated church has been turned into a country store downstairs and a wonderful cafe on the mezzanine floor. the delicious food is all made on the premises, the staff are super friendly and the variety of food to choose from is outstanding. Reasonable prices, great coffee and wonderful little setting. The little information stand on the table tells you the history of the old building and what the name Toccata means. I have eaten here many times over the past three years taking guests to the set of the Hobbit on my tour bus. We stop in here for quick coffee and bite for breakfast on the way down to Matamata. If it was not good, I would certainly not take guests there. The store downstairs is a great place to browse for a few minutes and is run separately to the cafe. Will I keep going back, yes.

“Not just great coffee!”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

A very tempting selection of cabinet style food. Consistently tops, lovely ambience in the old Presbyterian church ( The Pink Church) and if you are interested in music there are gifts to buy for the musician in your life. Great parking, clean loos and the well known Cambridge Country Store below.

“Great little cafe with added value”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

We had two 'teas' in this cafe while in Cambridge. The food, prepared on site, was delectable - and catered for those with gluten-free or vegetarian desires. Staff were friendly, patient and helpful. For the musician, a small library of music (for sale) was an added bonus, as was the gift shop below the cafe. (The gift shop is not run by the cafe people.)
