We stayed here on as a one night stopover on our way from Sydney to Fraser Island. The cottages are peaceful, very comfortable, and well fitted out. The gardens are gorgeous! We ate in the restaurant for dinner and had a very good meal with a great local wine! Breakfast was a perfect continental.. Fruit compotes of local produce, home made bread and jams. Hosts Penny & John were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back, but not as a stopover- we will spend 3 nights to explore the local wine region and the national parks. We would thoroughly recommend the cottages!

We stayed 2 nights with the purpose of exploring the local Girraween National Park. Accommodation was warm and cosy with pleanty of space as a couple in the cottage. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast onsite and organised our own lunch for the day we spent bushwalking. The gardens have been lovingly planned and tended and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. This would be an ideal stay for antone exploring the many local wineries or the national parks. There are several in the immediate vicinity.

Room Tip: My only little problem was the proximity to a main highway with loaded trucks rumbling through at al...

I think it was 1999 when I first went past Vineyard Cottages. And thought 'WOW! I'd LOVE to stay' there. And now I have. And it was worth waiting for.

John and Penny are fabulous hosts. Their email communication prior to our visit was top knotch and their hospitality was first class.

Our cottage was lovely for me, the MR and our 5 year old co-pilot. We were as warm as toast inside despite the cold Stanthorpe winter weather. The large spa bath was a huge hit with our co-pilot. He LOVED it. Only drama was when we had to get him out so each of us could bathe :)

The included breakfast of cereals, muselis, fruits, breads for toast was plentiful and very filling. There was an option to purchase a cooked breakfast but we didn't need or want it.

The planetarium next door was a hit with the MR and the co-pilot.

We had a beautiful meal at the attached restaurant. And gave it 5 stars too.

Keep it up folks. We wish you all the best and great health too!

Room Tip: We loved our Queen cottage with sofa bed.

My husband and our 16yo son and I stayed here for 2 nights after reading such great reviws on TA. We were definitely not disappointed. The cottages have ample room and my son was fine sleeping on the fold out lounge. The bathroom is enormous and the spa was most welcome after a day of bushwalking through Girraween.
What I liked most was the special homely touches that John and Penny made to the cottages, candles; biscotti; and coffee, not nescafe instant packet. Real milk in the fridge and cold water. Even huge fluffy towels - clean tidy and we will difinitely return. Great location for the local wineries but as we decided it was going to be a bush walking 3 days, it was still a great location to the national park.
The first night we had an absolutely beautiful meal in the cafe/restaurant and of course staying there we could also indulge in the local wines.
The breakfast that was included was full of local produce, from the fresh and stewed fruits to the jams. The bread and muesli is all made onsite and was absolutely devine. You can actually buy muesli as well to take home.
John and Penny are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They also must have a first class chef working for them because the food is supurb.
This was a great 2 nights/3 days stay and I must say gazing up at the beautiful night sky after a beautiful dinner with some fine local wine, really felt like a special place away from the rat race of everyday working life.
Thanks for a great short break John and Penny

Your hosts, Penny and John will grant your every wish. We stayed in a Queen Cottage, warm and comfortable, with every convenience including a romantic double spa. A short stroll through the beautiful gardens and you are in the Guest Lounge, in front of a roaring fire and enjoying the flavours of the local wineries. The chef at the restaurant is very talented; we celebrated Christmas in July on Saturday night with a delicious set menu, then returned again on Sunday night for his Roast Duck - absolutely yummy. The wine menu is extensive and giving you the opportunity to taste many of the local vintages that maybe you didn't have the time to try when you visited the local producers. This property is suitable for the romantic stay, for family and children, or friends. All will be made very welcome.

Room Tip: There are Cottages suitable for families (2 bedrooms), or others with King or Queen size beds. All...

With busy jobs and lives, my partner and I were keen to get away for a relaxing weekend and explore some of the SEQ local food and wine. Vineyard Cottages was an ideal base for us, and proved to be a relaxing and peaceful place to relax and recharge.

The quaint cottage gardens add a special ambience to the grounds, and although our room was smaller than we had expected, we really enjoyed the setting. Out the front of our "cottage" were two massive rosemary bushes and a lavender hedge, which smelt so fragrant as we sipped tea and read the papers on our front patio in the mornings.

Dinner in the restaurant was a lovely experience and we enjoyed the food, and the local wine John recommended to us.

John and Penny were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We arrived much later than we expected, which no doubt would have inconvenienced them, but when we did eventually get there, John was waiting with a smile and a torch, to show us to our room and help us settle in. This was a nice touch.

If you're in the area, stay here.
