Good coffee!! Wonderful friendly service, food and atmosphere. The wines were good too. This was by far my favourite winery experience on this trip to Stanthorpe.

“Coffee so bad we couldn't stay for the food”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

We dropped by here for coffee and possibly a bite to eat before heading off on a hike. My first coffee was cold, then came back scalding hot. The coffees for the rest of our group didn't come back much better. The hot chocolate tasted like bitter dishwater - dont know how anyone can stuff up a hot chocolate. Service is a bit clumsy and even though we had a good spot on the couches by the fireplace, the bad coffee forced us to go find food elsewhere.

As a vineyard restaurant and cellar door our focus is on Mason fine wines accompanied by excellent food. We apologise if you were disappointed with your hot drinks but coffee is not in fact our speciality and we use a 100% natural cocoa beans product to make our hot chocolate which may have not been to your taste. Perhaps if you had explained precisely how you would have liked your hot drinks beforehand we could have rectified the situation but I do believe the rest of your party drank their hot drinks without comment. Should you have stayed to enjoy our breakfast or lunch menu you would have found the food and service to be of an excellent high standard. Indeed in contrast to the hospitality offered in urban city life those visiting rural Australia should at times be willing to embrace the ‘quaint and quirky’. Regards, Mason Wines Cellar Door Cafe team.

“went back again for breakfast!”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

My patner, baby and I were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door by our friendly attentive host. The elegant, hearty atmosphere was lovely to be in on such a chilly rainy day, sitting by the fireplace looking out onto the vineyard. The food came out very quickly! We had a beautiful Spicy Chickpea open sandwich on fresh homemade bread, with the Super Food Salad. Simple, but extremely tasty food that left us feeling happy and nourished. After that we had a Peppermint mousse cake, which tasted like all the layers of heaven pilled generously onto a platter of Bliss! It was amazing. Loved everything about this place, though there could be some more art on the walls.

It’s always nice to host families exploring the Granite Belt and the ‘great outdoors’. In contrast to some city restaurants we like to see families share good food together and encourage this with our children’s food options as well as colouring sheets. We are hoping to have a re-vamp to our interior in due course. Thanks for your comments. Warm regards, Mason Wines Cellar Door Cafe team.

“Relaxed dining with a vineyard view”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

I wanted to give our guests a special granite Belt luncheon experience without breaking the bank. Masons fitted the bill perfectly and we will return with other guests in the future. It has always had two drawcards. One, you can enjoy the wine tasting experience before selecting the favourite bottles to drink with the meal. Two, you sit in a covered patio with an outdoor feel to enjoy the view of the vineyards; something that makes the Granite Belt very special. Now they have a chef and the meals were a great improvement on a previous visit some years ago. The six of us tried a variety of dishes and we enjoyed them all. Tasty and well balanced. The prices were good value and very much suited to relaxed lunch time dining.
