I stopped in for lunch with family recently and i can say the experience was fantastic! from the moment you step out of the car you can feel the warmth and love that they have put into every single aspect of the cafe. The food was absolutley perfect,I ordered the steamed perch with prawn wontons in an asian broth and it was to die for! The staff are lovely and especially Sarala she was great at explaining the wines and recomending which ones go well with what foods, she was warm and friendly and easy to talk to which made the whole experience even better. a great place for everyone to visist you will not be dissapointed! The chef is a very talented man and he shows great creativity in his dishes. Looking forward to getting back there as soon as i can.

Thank you

Mason's in right on the New England Highway a few kilometers North of Ballandean, and as such it is a very Convenient drop in spot.
So, we dropped in, and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant area was spacious but sparsely decorated. Given that the vinyl plastic walls were down due to inclement weather, it felt a bit cold but I imagine on a glorious sunny day, with the walls up, the dining area would be transformed into a very pleasant 'Al fresco' spot overlooking the Vines.
The menu was short, not laden down with choice, which I found refreshing, and reasonably priced as well.
My partner has the Prawns Risotto, (only 4 to the plate) which she enjoyed.
I had the Breaded Chicken breast, which I found to be a little dry, The rocket salad was refreshing and ample.
The Wine Tasting list was short, and the Scottish lass was most informative and able.
Right on the Highway , Masons invites the casual drop-in.

We are happy you found us to be so conveniently located for your visit and appreciate your feedback. The restaurant is glorious when the sun shines but with the changing seasons on the Granite Belt we have started to light our wood burning fire to warm up beside on colder days and will of course start to use heaters when we reach winter time proper. Wow what an amazing place. Beautiful setting, great atmosphere, lovely staff and most importantly delicious food. We had such a great lunch that we came back for breakfast on the following day! I chose the pork tenderloin and my partner had the breaded chicken. They were both delicious and such good value for money. The wine that Sarala chose for us complimented the meal perfectly. For breakfast I highly recommend the eggs benedict, soooo delicious! You must stop here if you are anywhere near the granite belt it really is a winning combination. Thanks to everyone at Mason Wines, we will be back!

We had a lovely birthday lunch at Mason's over the Easter weekend. The menu was not too large but we still had difficulty choosing from the great variety of food. We settled on the Asian broth with prawn wontons and perch, breaded chicken with potato wedges, Penang chicken with rice, and a haloumi and rocket salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was efficient and relaxed despite there being a couple of large groups in the restaurant. Lovely outlook. Will definitely return.
