We have been here now 6 times in 2 years, and we live out of Melbourne. This places is always welcoming and has the feel of a true Parisian bistro. And the food suits the feel. Bread is magnificent. We will be back in another couple of months. Good for couples, and groups.

We are blessed with such a large variety of places to eat so close to our home. For us Bistro Thierry is hard to beat for great French food, very attentive and professional staff and perfect decor and atmosphere. This is a rare breed of restaurant where you can actually book and have a conversation without yelling across the table. Sure it's not a cheap night out but even just having a main course and glass of wine is very reasonably priced for the total experience you receive. We have been coming to this place for several years maybe 2 or 3 time a year and it never falters - please don't "change the recipe!"

The food was delicious, most of the waiters polite and attentive (apart from one who really couldn't be bothered). What spoilt the experience was being placed on a table sooo close to the front door, every time someone left or entered you felt a cold blast of air, not nice.
Would go back and definitely request a different table.
Have never sat so close to a door before.

Our first trip to Bistro Thierry but it won't be our last.
We met friends there for Sunday lunch and decided on the set price lunch menu at $35 per head for 2 courses including a glass of wine, it was fantastic value, the food was full of flavour and was not compromised by being on the special, the chocolate soufflé was out of this world.
The waiter was French and it was nice to see a professional waiter at work, certainly added to the experience, there was no hurry to move us on after the advertised closing time .
Do yourself a favour you will be impressed

Earlier visits here had left me with a feeling that Thierry's was rather pretentious. This was my first visit in two years and it seems to have mellowed (of course it could be me). The service is brisk and obliging, the menu doesn't offer anything startlingly different but it is reliable, well cooked and well portioned. The wine list contains a great selection of French and Australian wines. We enjoyed it very much though the restaurant is rather noisy. In part that is because it is so full, a reflection of its popularity and quality.
