“Limited Menu but very good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

I have eaten at Bistro Thierry many times and always found the food to be very good. It is also the authentic French style of cuisine. The menu is fairly limited but always something there to choose and it is always very good. It is not a cheap meal but very good food. The atmosphere is great and décor is what you see in France and the staff are really authentic Frenchmen with that cute accent. They also have an extensive cellar with a large number of good French wines.
There is always a French casserole on the menu too. Apart from the tables being very close together, hence when there is a large party, it is very noisy it does have a lovely atmosphere.
I would go back again and again

“Lovely Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Friends and I enjoyed the set course $35 lunch which included 2 courses and wine with plenty of beautiful crusty bread. Delicious Beef Bourguignon, followed by apple tart was enjoyed, but there were several other options to try and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked superb. The waiters are French which adds to the atmosphere. Lots of wealthy diners around us being in Toorak, but the lunch special makes it affordable fine dining for the not so rich. Would definitely visit again, book ahead though as many people were turned away. Very quaint outside façade and lots of interesting stuff to look at inside.

“Romantic dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here last Friday night. We had oysters and French onion soup for entree followed by the fish and lamb specials accompanied by a gorgeous Pinot from Huon Valley. Great atmosphere and friendly French waiters. Highly recommend.

“Five star dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013 via mobile

A quiet catch up dinner with old friends in France!!!!!
Lovely atmosphere...olde worldly crowded but not noisy
Very attentive French waiters not intrusive.
Excellent traditional French fare, with an extensive varied wine list with plenty from Oz and France of course.
Not cheap, but we didn't go there for cheap, we went for good.... And that's what we got.
Highly recommended.
Will return

“One of our favourite local restaurants”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

We drop into our little local corner of Paris every couple of months. Cosy but not crowded, with (mostly) French waiters, it is rather old fashioned but very authentic. The food is mostly traditional French fare, (no experimental fusion dishes here), always fresh and carefully prepared. A substantial and varied wine list is available. Reservations essential, as I have never seen empty tables in the evening. Solid, dependable and understated, a lovely night out.
