The hotel is not on the beach but is nevertheless very well located (right across the street from the beach)The room we had (3A) offered a splendid, but indirect view of the ocean on the large balcony. The rooftop pool is very nice eventhough it's a bit small ; there's a breathtaking view from up there. Perfect spot if you want to take pictures of the windsurfers or the planes taking off from the nearby airport. The jacuzzi (on the rooftop again.) is nice but the water was not always hot... Beware that the hotel doesn't include breakfast (unlike most hotels in el yaque). However there is a convenience store that offers breakfast and sandwiches on the first floor.. but you have to be real patient even for a simple egg & toast that isn't all that good... The room is very well lit and spacious (2 bathrooms (with marble floor) in a 1 bedroom unit !) At first, the main AC didn't work (the one in the bedroom did.). They fixed it after 1 day, but the only way to control it was to use the breaker ! (which caused the bedroom AC to stop functioning..)They had to come again in order to try and make the remote control work.. but it never did..We therefore had workers coming in and out of the room for a couple days... There was almost always enough hot water (even if you use both showers in both bathrooms !).. but don't expect a high pressure shower either...Which is understandable considering they have to get the water by truck to the town. The room was furnished with all the necessary kitchenware with stainless steel appliances, (no oven though) . The cleaning lady was always making sure to clean our dishes (mind you.. one day, she never showed up..) It was our 3rd time in el yaque and was by far the best experience.. It's the best accommodation you can get. (if you are willing to pay that much !) The front-desk staff was nice, they booked us a taxi to get to the airport at 2am and he even negotiated the price in advance for us ! He was also helpful in arranging the rental of a car. The Hotel has over 1000 DVD for you to borrow (for free) .. and the room had a DVD player both in the bedroom and the living room. The wireless Internet was free and rather fast. Overall, despite small little glitches, we had an amazing time there and would definitely return !
