The owner was really friendly, and has built a nice place away from the noise of the main town, with amazing veiws and nice architecture. It's only a few minutes up the hill from town but a world away from the noise and hassle.

We loved Kon Tiki, with its cute airy bungalows and beautiful open air dining/common area. The views are great, the staff super friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are cheap and tasty. All in all a great budget option stay in Mancora.

The bungalows are very cute and have amazing views over Mancora. Perfect for watching the sunset from the hammock. The owners are lovely too and the staff are super helpful. Marie makes a mean scrambled eggs and Nando is a legend; practically running up and down the hill doing chores at the age of 70. It was a lovely introduction to Mancora and I would highly recommend it. The only thing to be aware of is the hill but if like us you're about to tackle The Inca Trail you might be grateful, as it gets you very fit!

These little bungalows have a beautiful view and the walk up the hill is completely worth it. They are very clean and the staff is helpful with ordering food :) Have fun and enjoy the awesome breezes!

Wonderful people, helpful from the first email. They explained exactly where Kon Tiki was (yes... up in the hill) and they weren't lying when they said it was only 5 minutes away from the boulevard. It will actually take you only 3 minutes to go down and 5 to go up. It might be a bit dangerous when raining though, there's no handrail.

The view from Kon TIki is amazing and so are the sunsets. At night it's a bit noisy, there's no parties at Kon Tiki but it is above all the clubs so you'll hear some music. On the good side, the rooms are clean and have a mosquitero, great thing to avoid zancudos and occasional spiders.

Even more: Good breakfast. They let us store our yogurt and wine in the fridge. Great restaurant tips. They fixed us up with surf lessons and asked about the experience. Nice place to meet other travelers. Good book selection. Comfortable hammocks. Cute dog.

Room Tip: First road in front of the sea, you won't want to leave the hammock!

My husband and I stayed in one of the private bungalows for 4 days on a recent trip to Mancora. The hotel was very clean and nice, and each bungalow had a terrace with a hammock and chairs with fantastic views of the ocean. The price was very reasonable too! We spent every night watching the sunset from the main area and the breeze from the ocean made it extremely pleasant. It sits on top of the hill overlooking the town and the beach. There is a very short hike up to get to the hotel, but as another reviewer said we didn't mind the hike as it was the only exercise we got there. The owners were very friendly and were available to help at anytime.
It was the perfect choice for lodging in Mancora!

We stayed in one of the private bungalows for 5 days and had a lovely stay. Everything is clean and the staff is really helpful and friendly. It's the only hostal located right on the hill looking out over town and the ocean. Even though there's still quite a lot of noise at night from all the bars downtown since the sound travels upwards, it's still a really chilled out place and much more laid-back than anywhere else in town. Yes, you do have to climb that hill a few times a day, but it's literally only five minutes and not that bad at all when you consider that's probably the only physical exercise you'll get in a day. If don't feel like walking down to get some food, you can also order take-out food here which will be delivered for a $1 charge and we would highly recommend ordering from the vegetarian restaurant Angela's (which is located right down the hill).
