We stayed 5 nights at the Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn. We had the Green Room where 5 of us stayed. But in reality we were traveling with a group of 28 people and we all stayed at the Inn. Breakfast was good, accommodation was great, but above all... The service was excellent!!! Kodos to Maria, Alejandra and Sherry who made our stay much better and made reservations for our different excursions!

We stayed at this hotel in November 2011 for four nights. We would absolutely stay again! It was clean, comfortable, and such a friendly staff. They spoke English fluently; however they also allowed us to practice our mediocre Spanish with patience. Every morning, there was homemade breakfast: omelette, pancakes, fruit, juices, etc. There was always a special, and then regular items to choose from, as well. Hotel staff had tons of recommendations as to where to go, when, etc. Luquillo is a great location to get to the airport to spend a day in Culebra or grab food in Fajardo. Sunday night in Fajardo was like a mini- carnival, just be prepared to speak Spanish. Luquillo also has the kiosks nearby, which are shops and restaurants, like a fun, cool strip mall of sorts. Although we are an early 30s couple, there were older couples and families there, too. The only negative I can think of is that the beach was not impressive. Rough water. Also, not the best place to walk around after dark. Not for those looking for a pool and such. Great for those looking to meet other travelers and explore! All in all, we would stay again!

We were very impressed with the Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn. The staff goes out of their way to help you any way that they can. If there is anything you want to do, see or eat, they have recommendations. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and hot water. It sure was nice to hear nothing but the sounds of the ocean while laying in bed. In the mornings there is a great continental breakfast served. From here we went to the rainforest (15 minutes away) and to the Bio-Luminescent Bay in Fajardo (40 minutes away). If you need snacks, there is a grocery store 5 minutes away.
The beach is just across the road from the hotel. It was more of a surfing beach and you had to walk about 300 yards from the hotel to get to where you can wade or swim. We saw lots of trash laying around the beach area and the trashcans that were there were overflowing.
The next time we visit the eastern side of PR, this is the hotel where we will stay.

We just returned from our honeymoon and it was wonderful. This location is breathtaking. Maria and her staff was incredibly friendly and so helpful. We did have a problem with our patio door when we arrived but maintenance was there the next day as they promised and we had no problems after it was repaired. Yes the location is very poor but everyone was so sweet and friendly. The best part is its just 10 min away from the rainforest and the ziplining excursion. Just about 3 min from the kioscos that serves anything you can think of. The view from our room was amazing. Maria and her staff also had a bottle of wine and fruit waiting for us with a congratulations note with it. The only problem was we had to leave this beautiful location because they made you feel like family with a friendly conversation everyday. We will be returning next year but will be bring our family with us. If u want peace and quiet this is the location you book you will not regret it.

Room Tip: We selected the king deluxe it gives you a few more amenities and extended balcony

The hotel was pleasant, quiet and very clean. The staff is uber friendly and went out of their way to make my family's stay a wonderful expirience. The coqui room was private, quiet and very spacious. They did not have wifi in my room, but they did access area to louge in the upper patios. The area was not urban or modern, but the beach was wonderful. The beach is littearly across the street. I highly recomand this hotel, I am already planning the next vacation there.

Room Tip: I recomend the coqui room it is quiet, and has it's own private entrance :D

The sunrises were just as beautiful as promised, and sunset along the beach was lovely as well. Staff was super helpful and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. The location was a great base of operations for seeing more of the region. Definitely recommend!

At best this is a Motel Six plus - room ok, clean but only one set of towels per person - need some minor repairs - breakfast was not as billed - usual 2 star type coffee & pastries - hot breakfast, waited 30 min for french toast on a stick! Let's be frank, this is a 2 star, maybe 3 star hotel in the middle of a working class neighborhood, cross the street from the public beach. Weekends & holidays - crowds, noise, everyone having a good time - hope you are too! Our standard is the white sand beaches of Destin, SeaSide and Gulf Shores - this beaches at Luquillo are brown sand, lots of seaweed, trash and not pretty at all! Two long days! Thankfully we found this great little bar and grill just own the street.
