“Good B&B”
Reviewed June 28, 2013 via mobile

This B&B is an excellent alternative to a typical hotel if you want to enjoy nature. As its location is on top of a mountain with a gorgeous view at the same time is really close to a major highway. Service is great as well as the breakfast with a choice of tropical fruits grown there. Word of caution: if you are not fond of dogs roaming around freely, this may not be the place for you. I would have preferred that the dogs were away from the guests.

We enjoyed our 4-day stay in early June 2013. As mentioned by others, the Inn is located up the hill from the town of Ceiba surrounded by the lush Puerto Rican countryside. Michael & Pedro are courteous hosts with helpful suggestions for exploring this part of the island. The breakfast always included Michael's homemade baked goods & a rotating selection of unique Puerto Rican fruit juices. Yes, there is no TV in the rooms, but a TV in the dining area is available. I would suggest just sitting on the upper deck and enjoying the great view of the countryside. Most likely, you will be joined by the entertaining house canines, all rescue pets. In fact, during our visit, another stray mom and her puppies were rescued from the streets and getting some rehab at the Inn.
Towels, ice chests & travel books are all available for loan from Michael & Pedro. We totally enjoyed our visit & hope to return.

In 2011 we stayed at Ceiba Country Inn and loved it so much we decided to stay there again. We stayed there 3 nights and love the peace and quiet of the area. The rooms continue to be clean and very comfortable. There is plenty of hot water. All rooms have AC and ceiling fans.

Michael makes the best banana bread and blueberry muffins! There is cereal, fresh fruits and delicious coffee. Each room has a small refrigerator. If you needs ideas on things to do or places to visit, Michael is wonderful at suggesting. He recommended that we visit the town of Guavate for Father's Day. We absolutely loved the area and especially the scenic drive back to CCI. Thank you Michael!

The property is surrounded by banana trees and beautiful flowers. You can see the ocean from the top outdoor area. If you need beach towels and chairs CCI has them available for you to use. The dinning area has refreshments and snacks along with books and cable television open until 9:00PM. They have friendly rescue pets on the property. We enjoyed seeing Casper and Brownie play together each morning. On our next trip to Fajardo/Ceiba we will definitely stay at Ceiba Country Inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Ceiba Country in February, and it was the perfect place to enjoy the end of our vacation. The furnishings are simple and the rooms very clean. The view is spectacular and the grounds are deep enough to offer a relaxing stroll in the morning or evening. Michael is very kind and helpful; I even called a couple weeks after returning home to ask for advice on returning to Puerto Rico and he was very generous with his time and knowledge. The coqui frogs are amazing here! There are resident dogs, who are treated so well (even a neighbor dog who likes to hang out because life is so good here!) A warm, wonderful pocket of Puerto Rico.

Room Tip: We were in room 8, tucked underneath. In spite of the location, it was very quiet at night.

Ceiba County Inn was beautiful, quiet (except the frogs and creature noises - but we slept surprisingly well), the staff was friendly and helpful, the dogs and cats were sweet and entertaining.

You definitely want to have a car with you. Finding the location was not difficult with the directions (Note: my GPS never found satellites on the trip). The check-in/ lounge/dining area has travel info, TV, games, affordable snacks/drinks (closes after 9 p.m., I think). So bring food if you want more to eat at night, or expect to drive 15+ minutes to a restaurant. (Metropol, I think in Fajardo, was one place we went, and it was a nice sit-down restaurant, despite being in a strip mall). There was a small fridge in the room, with mini freezer space.

Before we got there I didn't realize how close everything is: Fajardo and Luquillo sites are close by and easy to get to. We didn't really find much going on in Ceiba while we were there (it rained the day we might have gone to a beach there, so we ended up going to el Yunque that day).

Wifi worked great on the patio or upstairs. Magazines in the room, and books available to borrow. Not the hottest of shower water, but didn't need to be. They provided beach towels in a tote bag in addition to room towels/linens. I don't think we even turned on the AC while we were there (2 nights). Breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit, baked goods, coffee, tea (and some variety each day).

Would recommend/go back...

Room Tip: The Inn has limited rooms, so book early.

My girlfriend and I stayed here two nights in April/May 2013. The property is very peaceful and the staff is wonderful. We were serenaded to sleep by the coqui frogs. The breakfast was very nice. All in all a great place to stay and "decompress". We recommend this in to all.

It's a bed and breakfast in the tropical forest, so make sure you know what to expect.

Pros:
* NO TV in your room (which we loved)
* Mike, the owner, is very helpful
* Clean, comfortable room
* Great porch and terrace
* Quiet, beautiful location
* Decent breakfast (included)

Cons:
* To no fault of the owner, loud frogs; however, we read about the noisy creatures and bought ear plugs from one of the many CVS pharmacies on the way from San Juan and they worked like a charm
