We were in Treausre Beach, Jamaica last year for a little over 2 weeks and stayed with Fred & Alison at Avita Villa. If you are looking for a special place to go and feel safe this is the place for you. We had previously stayed at Resorts in Negril and Whitehouse and just felt like we were not “Seeing Jamaica”. We wanted to really feel the Jamaican Vibe and that’s when Fred and Alison came into our lives. We have stayed with them for a couple years now and would NEVER stay in a resort again.
The accommodations at Avita Villa were incredible. Clean, comfortable, private, safe, fun, exciting, adventurous and romantic. Everything you need to cook for yourselves if you want like we did, there is everything there for your use. We loved going to the market purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables and local fish to cook for ourselves and if that’s not your idea of vacation there are plenty of local places to eat and get a cold Red Stripe. If your looking for a little Social Scenery to have a beer with the locals that's just down the road, if your looking to sit under the most incredible stars in the sky while listening to sound of the waves down on the beach that's just outside your door.
We went on a day trip with a local we hired with a car that Fred knew and went on an Adventure! We went to the Appelton Rum Factory, then for a swim in the Black River and a drive back to Treasure Beach that included a stop to see the Sunset over Treasure Beach from up on the hill behind it. There are losts of places like YS Falls that is not a far ride either and that would be something worth the trip as well. We have been twice.
The beach at Avita Villa was incredible, private, full of life with crabs, tropical fish, dolphins swimming by at random but the best part was…. We were the only ones there! You don’t get that in Negril, Whitehouse or anywhere else we stayed at in Jamaica. There we were fighting for loungers by the water. On one day we went to four different beaches on a small motorcycle we rented! Each one with different shells to collect. Some had local fishermen pulling in their nets. We would always suggest water shoes as these are “Natural Beaches” no spraying of pesticides so Urchins and other sea life live right there.
We got engaged a little down the road from Avita Villa a year and half ago at Fort Charles Beach which is just a bike ride down the road. Now we are planning on getting married there in February 2016 and then back to Avita Villa for our "Jamaica Reception". We have no doubt Fred and Alison will assist us in having the wedding of our dreams and to share with them this special day is our way of saying thanks for showing us what being in Jamaica is really like. Let them show you!
