“Nice atmosphere - good food”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

We had dinner at Jake's one night during our visit to Treasure Beach. It has a lovely vibe and we were very satisfied both with the food and the service. We are contemplating staying at Jake's when we return to Treasure Beach some time since we got such a good impression. Lovely with a salt water pool!

“Nice property, evoloving menu”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

Although we didn't stay at Jake's, we ate dinner at Jake's Dining twice during our Treasure Beach stay. We appreciated that the lunch and dinner menu changed daily and the meals were good. I personally wouldn't say I had my best meal at Jake's, but others in my party of four might disagree with me! Nice bonus too that Jakes has a generator for when the power is out in town, they accept credit cards, and mix a variety of cocktails.

“Great ambience but disappointing food”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

We tried Jakes twice for evening meals. Anyone going should be sure to apply plenty of insect repellent as you will be eating outside under trees. We found that their meals lacked the true taste of the food they were serving because they were laced with dressings (like BBQ sauce) liberally applied and straight from a bottle. Their 'battered conch' was 85% batter and only 15% conch! Portions were good but at the expense of quality. The staff were not good at answering queries about what food was being served and, for example, after confusion with an order tried to serve three main courses to two people. There appeared to be a lack of understanding and practical thinking.

“Fresh and Fantastic Local Food”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

We stayed at Jakes and so ate here a lot - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lunch and dinner menus change daily, and the breakfast menu changes in some aspects (e.g. what sort of fresh fruit or juice is available.) The emphasis is on seafood and vegetables - we really appreciated the wonderful selection of veggetable curries, for example. They also serve meat; we did not order it once, but it is available - e.g. jerk chicken, local lamb. Service can be a bit leisurely, but is generally attentive and efficient. The place is very popular, so it can be crowded. If you want a special meal right on the beach or in a little gazebo, it is best to book in advance. We loved all the food, from traditional Jamaican to imaginative recipes using local produce. The wine list is very reasonably priced, as is the menu in general.
