“Good and particular bar”
Reviewed August 16, 2012 via mobile

Very good place to visit! If for pelican bar you mean 'bar' it doesn't fit the reality. That's a shack in the ocean, but with good wheatear it must be awesome.

The trip to get it is not very safe

“A Must-Do”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

This is an incredible structure built about a mile off land and accessible only by boat. Rustic is the word. The word is also delicious. Floyd is a great cook, and you can get a fantastic and very fresh fish lunch here; everything is cooked in his special herbal blend of about 10 different items. Drinks include Red Stripe, rum, and soft drinks. You can sunbathe on the deck. You can walk around and snorkel. Or you can just chill out. The vibes are amazing. This is a place that should not be missed under any circumstances.

“True Jamaica”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

on the way to black river, we made good use of taking shelter from the rain at the pelican bar. it was 11:01 am and the guys were just on time, opened up shop and served up red stripes and rum cocktails. we didn't get to swim, but the good vibes in the pelican bar and friendly staff were just perfect enough, whether for rain shelter or just any day. would definitely recommend anyone to go and I will be back there on a sunny day.

“Definitely the most interesting and unique bar”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

LOVED LOVED LOVED the Pelican Bar. It was so interesting and unique. First we booked Captian Joesph for our boat ride to the bar. He was wonderful. We even saw a huge sea turtle on our way out to the bar. While we headed over Joesph phoned ahead and ordered out lunch. It was fantastic eating our lobster/rice meal out on the planks of this wooden structure. Lunch was delicious and the beer was COLD! I could have stayed for days just chillin. It wasn't crowed at all. Maybe 10 people total. Definitely worth the trip. Don't miss out!!!

“Unique!”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

We visited the Pelican Bar in the morning. The place is extraordinary, calm and clean. Admittedly at 10.30 a.m. we were the only visitors and were made welcome by the staff who were getting things ready for the day. It is quite amazing, the crystal clear waters you can swim in, the decking from where you can observe shoals of fish and shy rays. We sat around for a long time, looking across to the coast and mountains; real pelicans were sunning themselves and catching fish. Lucky them, it's well worth taking the boat trip. This was one of our best day trips during our stay in Jamaica.
