It was all that was claimed -- quiet, laid back, on the sea, romantic, funky, definitely not the typical tourist spot (not an all inclusive, nor the high rise hotel experience)
The staff makes the place -- welcoming, warm, friendly, attentive and concerned, made one feel they were part of the family
If you want a real experience of Jamaica and Jamaicans this is where you should be!!

There are few resorts in the world that are consistantly excellant, Jakes is one of these places, we have been staying at Jakes for the past 15 years, at Jakes you do not have Staff, you have friends all of which go far beyond the call of duty to make your stay exceptional.
The location is by far a hidden gem, the accommodation inspires your mind with the detail put into all of its villas.
Already booked to return in two weeks...
And dont forget the wonderful SPA.

Fabulous setting service and food. I truly felt everyone cared about my needs and wishes. This is an artists dream place with outstanding views and eclectic decor. I would return as this is truly a fantasy come true

I spent 4 nights at Jakes in August 2011 and it was the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. The staff at Jake's is fantastic. I loved being welcomed there with a wet towel to clean off the dust of the road and a glass of watermelon ginger juice. The setting is idyllic- most rooms are right on the water, so the waves lull you to sleep whether you're in bed or in one of the property's many hammocks. The food at Jake's is good, but nothing to rave about. I'd recommend trying some of the many other restaurants in the area- Jack Sprat's is good for pizza and ice cream, Pardy's coffee shop is a great place for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

I can't say enough about Dritftwood Spa! I had an incredible treatment with Channay. She used delicious organic ingredients (shea butter, cocoa, cucumber...) to massage away my aches and to give me a thorough reflexology treatment. She was very professional, personable, and skilled. The spa is gorgeous and the perfect setting for relaxation- the pictures on the Jake's website doesn't do it justice.

Room Tip: Starfish and Jellyfish are very close to the bar, so if you're planning to go to bed early, you...

After long working hours and hectic days of work and lack of time with family this was a perfect escape for a weekend from both work, stress and civilization. The place has a blend of carribean and Mediterranean and middle east architecture. Staff service is highly appreciable, very friendly. Food is worth the penny alongwith on property pizza resturant. Cheers!!

Our "honeymoon suite" was a cozy one bedroom villa that opened up to the ocean. At the foot of our bed there were french doors that opened to a deck that reached to the ocean. Sunsets can be watched from the comfort of your bed or on the chez furniture on the deck. On the side of the villa we had a private outdoor shower (sexy). Treasure beach doesn't have a whole lot more than this which is why we went. The village is slow with very little to do but walk around, swim in the ocean, attend the annual reggae festival or the rasta literary festival. I've been back 4 times. It's a lovely and and almost entirely untouched part of Jamaica - far away from the throngs of tourists.

We discovered the relaxed, hippy-like Jake's resort about ten years ago and loved it then. We have been back no less than four times.
The resort is a collection of individually-designed little cottages furnished tastefully and creatively, in a well-landscaped area centered around the outdoor salt-water pool and the famous "Dougie's Bar" (the absolute best rum punch you can get on the island). Friendly dogs roam freely around and come to be petted on to snooze at your feet. The restaurant has always been famous for the quality of its Jamaican-inspired cuisine, with outdoor seating in a shaded grove. Recently, Jake's began offering yoga sessions in the morning, with pristine view of the Carribean Sea. The owners of Jake's have always been extremely active in the community and promote eco-friendly practices. And best of all, prices are very reasonable, so what's not to like ?

Room Tip: Choose one of the smaller cottage, and don't worry about AC (not needed thanks to the breezes)
