This is a good place to visit when you are in Santiago. You can see some history, culture and art of the Dominican Republic.

I was very happy to visit this clean and pretty museum.
I learnt many interesting things about the Dominican Republic, its history, inhabitants, culture, nature, ...
Not boring at all and very beautiful. I higly recommend it for every one, kids or adults. Beware : texts are only in Spanish.

This is the best private museum in the country. The Leon family has done an excellent job in portraying the history of the tobacco industry in the Santiago area, in addition having an excellent showing of local painters. The museum is well run, and is worthwhile a visit ...or two.

The city of Santiago is virtually shape with the Tobbaco Plantation. This fact create a cultural process very interesting. In the Centro Leon, you can visualize this wonderful history create under the influence of the tobacco. An excellent picture collection with the most renowned dominican painter. But also differents exposition the reflect the cultural richnnes from the Cibao Region. So, visit Centro Leon is a unique experience not just in the caribbean area, but just in American, the land of the tobbaco. And very educacionally experience for the kids
