“Great location, great experience”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

My wife and I spent 2 nights here on our honeymoon and we had a great time. The grounds are fantastic with lots to explore. The courses are excellent, food was good, room was good, and the staff were very pleasant. Lots of awesome amenities on site, check out the website. Will definitely be back!

The Staff were excellent, We especially enjoyed the service at the pub/restaurant, they were so good with our two young girls. We stayed at the cottages and wished we could have stayed for a whole week.

As tourists from Alberta, we probably never would have stayed here but thanks to Travelzoo we had a great experience! When planning our trip to PEI, Travelzoo offered a 2 night stay for 199.00 for two people and included a $50 voucher to use in the spa or restaurant. We were very pleased with this resort. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The dining restaurant was excellent.... food was great, service top notch, price was reasonable. The restaurant in the clubhouse was also excellent... service very good, food great and well priced. The location is very good for touring around the eastern section of PEI as well as conveniently located for the ferry to Nova Scotia. The grounds are lovely and it is located on the river which was very scenic.
I somehow left a garment behind in the room and the hotel phoned to say they found it and will be sending it to me at my home address! Now that's great service. Hopefully they will follow through.
The only complaint we had was that there was a team staying at the resort and they were pretty noisy. The hotel did look into it and by midnight they quieted down.
If you are a tourist to PEI, consider this resort!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'west' side I think, the girl at the desk said it was the newer side.

Nice location, beautiful property but the rooms are a little dated. Super clean and great staff, but expensive. For this kind of $$$, you could expect nicer amenities. Free cookies at the front desk though! Shoulder season rates are more appropriate.

Four of us (2 in the over 50 club, 2 hovering around 30) ended up here at the last minute after an eviction from a roadside motel (see "Harbour Motel" review for that tale). You might say we were desperate for lodging by the time we found this resort on "the Google" as my mother calls it. The price of the hotel was more than we were looking to spend, as we were looking for a no-frills place to lay our heads. This property offered far more than we were looking for, but that's not their fault, of course. We rolled in around 11:00 p.m., and there was a wedding taking place on the grounds. We checked in quickly and went to our room. The front desk agent who checked us in was very pleasant and professional. We told her all about our recent motel experience, and she shared our humor. I can't remember her name, but she looked a lot like "Penny" from Big Bang Theory!

Our room was nice...dated, but nice. It could have used a deep cleaning, though. Being 6'4", I see a lot more than the average person. The tops of the light bulbs in the bathroom were quite dirty, as were a few other higher, harder to reach areas. The headboard was also quite loose and noisy (and not from THAT...my mother was in the room!). But seriously, we had to wedge face cloths behind it so it wouldn't bang against the wall. The walls (like any 20+ year old hotel) were paper thin, and when the wedding party decided to return and have a little get together in the hallway, we heard everything they said. They weren't too rowdy, and were obviously celebrating a happy occasion, so we put pillows over our heads and went back to sleep.

Overall a very beautiful spot (for the 6 hours we were there). Nice staff. Price was very responsible (compared to other resort-like properties).

Daughter arranged her wedding here Jul 2013. Large number of guests from across Canada. The staff there with their wedding counselor had everything down to science. Could not want for a thing. Only problem was the brides parents(us) could not get into their room until an hour before the wedding at 4PM.
