“Pleasant dining experience overlooking the waterfront”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Visited on a beautiful evening in late July 2012. Very pleasant dining on the deck overlookling the waterfront. My wife and I started with the seafood chowder, which was excellent and highly recommended. For an entree my wife selected the "pasta of the day" which was a "seafood medley". This was particularly outstanding and is a good choice if available. I got the basic "fish and chips" which was very good. Good selection of beer and wine - I had a local amber, red beer which was a good choice. Definitely recommended for good (although a bit "pricey") food and a nice setting. One additional thing, we did have to wait over 1/2 hour to be seated as it was quite busy

“Lunch On A Rainy Day”
Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Stopped for lunch in late September Quiet day inside. Ordered fried claims. They were very good, not overlooked but perfect. Plenty of them with lots of local fried. Will come back again. Our waitress was wonderful and very efficient taking good care of us and other guest.

“A Happy Find”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Touring in north-eastern P.E.I. , we visited Georgetown one rainy mid - afternoon, and decided to drop in for a late ,light lunch at Clamdiggers ... a restaurant right on the sea. It has a deck/patio , but the rain sent us into the dining room.

There was only one other couple in the place at that time , but the kitchen was open , and when we looked at the menu , we decided to have our main meal right then : two orders of seafood pasta , one "fish stew" and one chowder .

The food was wonderfully fresh , well-cooked , and we all agreed ... delicious !

When back in PEI , we'll surely go back again , and hope that the same folks are running it !

“Agree with the reviews on 'fried foods'....”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

There seem to be quite mixed reviews on this place. Having just been there, we are feeling it is mostly hype that gets people there. ... but it is quite a disappointment. Yes it is a nice location, so if it is warm enough to sit on the deck, that is nice. I guess we were hoping for some pretty nice quality seafood... however, were disappointed that the menu had mostly items on it that were deep fried... :(
And these deep fried items came with fries. My husband had the fish and chips, haddock.. and it was a bit "fishy" -- came with fries.. mind you, the fries were good, but we were hoping for some better food. I had scallops, also deep fried. Someone wrote here 'best they ever had'... but they are just deep fried scallops - I have not really found them to be so broad in scope. Also came with fries. Lots of oil.
We ordered a caesar salad to start, that was good.
I guess for the prices on the menu for dinner.. from about $19 to about $48, and the reviews, we were hoping for something pretty quaint. There was no real ambiance in the place, it just reminded you of being in a diner. The tables were outdoor patio tables, inside.
I would say this is the PEI version of Red Lobster... for lack of better comparison.
Just average to below average in food quality and in terms of being something a bit more 'above'the rest, especially considering the prices.
