My husband and I recently stayed at the White Pine Resort. It is a comfortable place to stay, the beds are comfortable and the food is good. We would like to give special mention to the woman who worked in the pub in the evenings, she was very friendly and focused on customer service.

It is a nice location, with hiking trials in Algonquin Park easily accessed. If you are an outdoors man, this is the place to stay. It's currently perfect for hunt trips, snowmobilers, fisherman

But this is not a spa. I believe that they are advertising what they want this place to be, rather than what it currently is. Currently this is a great lodge that is under construction. This is not the place to come if you want the spa experience. The washrooms only offer shampoo (no conditioners, no body lotion) that is sourced from hunteramenities.com.

It does have potential though and would be a great destination if they do get the pool opened and get a spa.

My wife and kids stayed at the White Pine Resort May 24 weekend.....we were blown away at the awesome hospatality they offered us. My daughter has a gluten issue...we mentioned this to their kitchen staff and Matt the chef .....said " no problem, we are here to serve you". They made my daughters favorite food with no additonal cost. The room we stayed in were super clean...and the kids loved going for the canoe around Benoir lake. This resort is highly recommended for a fraction of the price...that we paid just 35 minutes away in the Muskokas. We booked our summer vacation at the end of August. We even enquired about the cottage lots that they are building.....paradice.....well done White Pine Shores...we'll be back

Room Tip: all the rooms are diffrent and unique.....book early as it fills up fast!

My husband and I stayed at the White Pine Resort May 24th weekend 2013. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of activites offered, not at all what was stated on their website and I quote: " Tour Benoir Lake in a canoe, kayak or paddle boat.... we have a boat to make your experience enjoyable. ...we have a spacious dock to fish, ... revitalize in our engergy-enhancing spa or gazebo by the lake. ... mountain bike rentals are available for those who travel light. ... do laps in our 3-season indoor pool." end of quote. Let me tell you none of these wonderful activites were available. No boat, of any kind, no spacious dock, no gazebo, no mountain bike rentals ( we would have brought ours), no 3 season pool, no spa. The only thing it did have was a golf course not in the greatest shape, and two small pool tables full of renovation debris and newly renovated rooms however not enough hot water to fill jacuzzi tub! The staff were friendly but unprepared to welcome guests. Once renovations are totally complete it could be the wonderful place it claims to be. R. Dutrisac

Room Tip: Not worth the extra money for a "more spacious" room.

Great service, clean rooms, super friendly staff, amazing scenery and good food! What else can you ask for? We also visited the golf course and although we didn't golf, it looked amazing for those who do.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at White Pine Shores resort and we had a GREAT time! The hotel was so clean and the management was wonderful! I want to thank Paul and Kim for being so great and hospitable. They were both so lovely and helped us with whatever we needed! The rooms were so spacious and clean with amazing views that exceeded any expectations we had. We will definitely return again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get away for a few days to relax and have fun!

We spent a weekend this winter at the Resort and I was a bit apprehensive after reading a few of the earlier reviews, but we ended up having a great time! The staff was super helpful and friendly and while it wasn't a luxurious resort, it was cozy and clean. The rooms were clean and spacious, with awesome views. They had satellite TV, with free movies and our room had a fair size bar fridge in the room as well. We went on a Jaunt and the meals that were included were great. As we were there for two nights, we ate in the pub and had an awesome meal ordering off the menu as well.

The golf course looks awesome (even though it was covered in snow) and we had a blast snow shoeing. As it is fairly remote, I would recommend being fairly outdoorsy. It looked like an ideal place for snowmobilers and I think we are going to be planning a group snowmobiling trip with some friends next winter.

While I did mention it wasn't luxurious, it has a ton of potential and would be a great spot for a wedding, as it has a ton of room and would be very suitable for a small destination wedding.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet retreat and for those looking to take advantage of all the outdoor activities in the area.
