“Great choice after your of the Cabot Trail”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We stayed in one of the "original" B&B rooms upstairs in the main house. It was very spacious, and the bathroom, even though not ensuite, right next to it with plenty of space as well. Breakfast was a large buffet of everything you could wish for, including hot cooked choices and homemade jam. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We booked through the tourist office the day we arrived, good value. Very friendly hosts, nice clean rooms (we stayed in the attached motel-like rooms, not in the beautiful main building), very nice breakfast room, nice patio with great view of the bay. Excellent breakfast. Good location for a walk to the harbour. The railway is very close, so sometimes passing trains are very loud. We would definitely stay there again.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in! We stopped by without a reservation and they had a 2 bed room in the B&B and a room in the motel. We chose the B&B. The room was spotless, beautiful, and relaxing. There was plenty of storage for clothes if you're there longer term, There's a vanity, a small table, a chair, and private bathroom. The bathroom is large and clean wit ha beautiful old-fashioned bath rub and separate shower. The breakfast was delicious - tea, coffee, fruit salad, cereal, toast, bacon, ham, eggs, and freshly made cheese biscuits. The owners are very friendly and we had a nice chat with them. They recommended a nice pub for supper and it did not disappoint.

Room Tip: Ask to see the rooms first if you want. Our room was on the front side of the house and even with t...

This B & B is a wonderful place to end a day of sightseeing in Cape Breton. This historic home is warm, welcoming and very comfortable. The hosts are gracious and offer wonderful advise as far as places to see and eat in Port Hawkesbury. Breakfast in the morning was nothing short of delicious. The biscuits second to none. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We were told about Harbourview B&B at the Info Centre after crossing the Canso Causeway. We
drove over and met the owners - John & Sharon and booked a room in the house. That evening they invited us to play a game of cards which we thoroughly enjoyed. The house was nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious. We carried on in the a.m. for our trip around Cape Breton, PEI & Nfld. On our way back we stayed again, only this time in the motel. It was great and we had another game of cards and another wonderful breakfast in the a.m. John & Sharon were great hosts and we would recommend this B&B/Motel very highly.

We recently stayed one night in the motel section of the B&B and Motel. It was super clean with lots of little extras that you don't see at a more expensive hotel. Very quiet area. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast in the dining room. I don't think you could ask for anything more. We cut short our trip to CB because of rain. This will be my number 1 pick if we can arrange a return visit for next year.
