The Castle Inn

We stayed at the Castle Inn for one night, en route to Saguenay, Canada. What a find! Lovely old home, converted to an inn a while ago and updated recently. Our room , the Glamis Room, was spacious, with two windows and great ventilation. Very bright and clean, nice bathroom. Great dinner by Chef Chris in the well-appointed dining room. Breakfast is just a continental. Coffee maker in room. Spectacular drive to Quebec Province on the relatively new four-lane Route 2, very easy to pick up from the Inn.

Room Tip: Review images of room carefully for size and amentiies. We not like jet tubs in our bedrooom, so we...

From the moment we pulled up the driveway, we could tell that this was a special place. It really is a castle, complete with a stone tower. What a beautiful building!

The layout of the place is varied, comfortable, and just gorgeous. There is a large deck behind the dining room, where dinner guests can choose to eat outside in the stunning setting. The bar and dining room, with the rich wood walls, greet you as you enter. Beyond that, there are numerous seating areas from which you can choose - small tables in sunny corners, outdoor seating on a deck overlooking a green hillside, lounge chairs out back, and cushioned chairs in a large, bright sun room.

Our room was elegant and lovely, and the bed was luxurious. The French doors opened onto a back deck and garden area, and our bathroom was beautifully designed.

We had a FANTASTIC dinner in the on-site restaurant the night we arrived. Though a breakfast is included in your stay at the inn, don't expect much, as it's "continental", so it's spartan. (Wide selection of cold cereals, two juices, three choices of fruit, simple sweet rolls, and bread.)

There is real opportunity to pamper yourself here --- there is a sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi, and heated pool, all indoors and really clean. There's even a small fitness center, with weights and a couple of machines, along with a tv.
All in all, we had just a wonderful stay at this special place. The tranquility of the setting, with gardens, soft green hillsides, and forest everywhere we looked made us want to do nothing but stay put once we arrived. So special and lovely! We couldn't recommend it more highly.

I hosted my sister's bachelorette party at the Inn in March, 2011. It was an amazing event. Delicious food, brought to us by a warm and courteous waitress, was accompanied by a nice list of wines and cocktails. The suite where we hosted our "party" was very well appointed with a comfortable king size bed, a seating area and a dining area. It accommodated eighteen ladies very well. The spa area was clean and provided us with a nice spot for swimming and relaxing in the hot tub.

I would recommend anyone to make reservations for dinner, a night away or a big event. Chris and his staff can handle anything! At the very least, head to the Inn for wings and beer... you won't be dissapointed!

Have no doubt that The Castle Inn is the place to stay.I had my last visit about a month ago and was very satisfied as I have been in all my past visits. It is a must see Inn,beautiful on the outside and in,cleanliness is a 5 out of 5.
I felt on my visits that I was a very welcome guest and treated with much kindness, above and beyond. The staff are all very friendly especially Chef Chris/manager,and a wonderful chef indeed. He knew it was my sons birthday and he whipped him up a small beautiful chocolate delight with a candle in it with no charge,my son felt very special. My son also wanted me to add he just loves the warm swimming pool, especially the water slide, and the lights in the hot tub are amazing.
You can find something for everyone from relaxation, privacy, romance to family fun.We do a lillte tour around the Inn each trip and experience a feeling of mystery,it's very quaint. The spiral staircase is breath taking,it really does feel like a castle, even a palace in the older part of building.
I just love The Castle Inn,check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed!!!!!! I will definately be returning over and over for years to come. Sandy Derrah from Gordonsville,New Brunswick.

Room Tip: Victorian Suite or Royal suite(magical).

My son and daughter-in-law found this place and stayed for a night last year and this time when they returned they brought us and her parents too. We had 3 beautiful rooms in the new expansion. They were so warm/cozy and made you feel like you were in a home not a motel. The new pool and fitness center are very fresh and inviting. We had supper in the dining room that night and the staff were so attentive and friendly. We had our 21 month old grandson with us and he was treated like a little prince. Chef Chris is an amazing chef and will happily change up a dish to meet your wishes and exceed your expectations. Over all I would highly recommend this as a weekend getaway or for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary celebration.

Traveled there with my fiance. We were checking it out as a possible venue for our wedding.
We stayed in the Royal Suite and were very impressed.. the photos don't do it justice, you need to see it in person - beautiful!
Chris made us dinner later. He was between menus at the time so he brought us a few different courses, some from the new menu - WOW! He is a very talented chef!
Later in the evening we met with Chris to discuss the details of the wedding and gave us a tour of the place. Needless to say, we booked our wedding date the next morning while checking out.
All of the staff are so welcoming and kind. We have already recommended this place to many people!
If it was closer, we would definitely go more often.

Thanks Chris, Remi & staff for a wonderful stay!
