On our drive through the BC interior, we stopped in Lillooet for supper. We had a few places to choose from and decided on Dina's Place. We really were not expecting all that much when we entered, the place looked very clean and since we all used the restrooms upon arriving, we all remarked that they were also very clean.
When we opened the menus, we were taken aback from the prices, a bit steep for many dishes. We decided that we would go the cheaper route and order pizzas. We placed our order and waited. The table next to ours, a party of six, had placed their order before we did and started to receive their dishes - nice plates with generous portions of chicken brochettes, shrimps and pastas - made us want to rethink our order. However, when our pizza came, we had no regrets. The pizza was excellent - generous amounts of meat and cheese, crust was perfect with it's pocket of tomato sauce tucked inside of it. All four of us agreed that it was most likely the best pizza we ever had. Upon leaving, I told the waitress to give our compliments to the chef(s), the waitress pointed to a large window looking into the kitchen and said "Go and tell them, they like to hear your opinions. Turns out, they are also the owners.
If I could only find a place in Vancouver that makes Pizza like Dina's Place - I'm even tempted to drive the 3-4 hours just to try it again. Although I would also like to try some of their Greek food!
