New 23 Camels was most enjoyable, and the blush was a very pleasant surprise.

Four of us stopped in here on our way to Fairbanks. Although I'm not much of a wine drinker, the others had a great time tasting about a half dozen kinds of wine. The woman in the tasting room was very friendly and informative, and the gentleman outside was also friendly and talkative. This made for a very casual and welcoming atmosphere.

This is a young winery and everything looks "new". There is a picnic area outside with benches and tables with a nice view of the valley and mountains. One very nice touch is the play area outside - if you have children you can let them safely run and play whilst you're tasting some wine!

There are no washrooms but the outhouse was clean and provided hand sanitizer gel.

The tasting room is smallish but comfortable. There are photos on the wall by local photographers, with copies for sale. They are all good, but the one of the plane dumping fire suppressant is absolutely outstanding!

All in all, this made for a nice stop and yes, my friends bought two bottles of wine :-)

My sister-in-law and I went to the winery during the town's Apricot festival. Fort Berens is a small winery just starting out with a small selection of wine they produce. They have won a surprising number of awards for their wine, some of them international.

The lady in the tasting room was very friendly and very knowledgable. She took us through their whole line of wines and we were able to taste them all. Their wine was very good and I came away with several bottles.

They have a vineyard and are just starting to produce their own grapes to make their wine. The workers are local which is a big plus to provide local jobs.

Overall it was a great experience.
