“Splendid Food in a Seaside Village”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Wow, what a find. Amazing food and fast service in Mallaig. Loved the food that much, went back again for second night. I had rump steak with onion rings, mushrooms, tomato and chips which was really hot which was very welcoming after a cold Sunday September weekend. Second night, had the mushrooms as a starter followed by Seabass which was just delicious. Very reasonable prices.

Certainly spoilt for choice.

Highly recommend this place if visiting Mallaig.

“Great 'plaice' but hardly a 'sole' in it!”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Scallops starter was delicious! 3 succulent scallops wrapped in pancetta with a well-presented fresh, dressed salad.

Burger main course, made from prime lean beef was lovely and like-wise the salad but the chips let the meal down - no buts, it's got to be fresh, hancut potato chips - NEVER frozen.

“Go during the day”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

An excellent wee pub / resteraunt during the day and into the early evening, however the locals come in drunk (which is fine), and start singing sectarian songs and the bar staff don't seem to give a damn. Go to The Clachain. Not so good an atmosphere, but you don't feel like an outsider, and who wants to when on holiday and you're already paying over the odds for fuel and pints anyway?

“Good pub restaurant”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

We were very pleased to find the restaurant open on a sunday evening and to be able to have a table after only a short wait. We enjoyed prawn and crab cocktail and dover sole - both from the specials board. The pub has an excellent selection of ales and whiskies.
