We ate in this restaurant and had a lovely meal. The menu was extensive with a good selection of fresh seafood dishes, we were made very welcome by a very attentive staff who were friendly and efficient, I would recommend this eating place and would certainly return on my next trip to Mallaig !

“Be very careful what you order!!!”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

The best seafood place in Mallaig, but that is not saying much, the others are pretty toxic and best avoided ( greasy scampi sold in slimy pubs with cheap Tennants lager = "seafood bar"!).
We shared a £6 starter ( three tiny scallops) which was tasty but a bit meagre.
My wife then had battered haddock and chips which was good, not outstanding but acceptable.
I had oven baked cod with herb crust, parsnip coulis - I asked for it not to be overdone (as per usual Scottish cuisine) and it was fine - certainly worth the price.
The house wine - pino grigio- was quite palatable , so overall we were happy.
However we were accompanied by some Americans one of whom made the tragic error of ordering the Lobster ( most expensive item on menu) - it arrived partly re-heated, partly cold having been pre-cooked and kept chilled in the fridge - APPALLING ! Not even Basil Fawlty could have stooped that low. They sent the lobster back and it was duly grilled, the American asked for melted butter to some consternation (never heard of this apparently).
A German couple had the scampi ( seemingly popular dish) but did not eat it - the prawns had not been cleaned properly before being battered.
In conclusion - don't order lobster or scampi but freshly caught fish is great!!!
