“Great Little Cafe in a Wonderful Location”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This little café is situated in a wonderful position in the centre of the main street running through Lochcarron.

We stayed in Lochcarron a couple of weeks ago on holiday, and visited the café several times - mainly for breakfast. There's a wide range of choices and we sampled the full Scottish breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, and chocolate cake to take away. Everything was very reasonably priced, and the food very good. Also, the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

We will certainly be regular visitors to this café when we return to the Highlands next year.

“Delicious cakes!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Just stopped off for coffee & cakes - so much choice! No good being on a diet here! Lovely owners who were extremely helpful to us! Waterside café has a good varied menu, and is open all day (until 8pm in the evening during August while we were there) so very convenient. Beautiful views across the Loch, and tables outside if the weather is good.

“What a Disappointment”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Having been impressed by this café in June we returned for a light lunch in August. This time the food was very disappointing; no better than you would get in a fast food outlet. The coffee in particular was like cheap instant coffee. We will not be going back.

“needed a break”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Stop here admire the scenery and enjoy the home made food and cakes. Excellent. Nothing too much trouble and apartments to rent too. The owners sister has the Applecross inn at Applecross.

“Hearty cafe food and cakes that bring out the worst in you”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

Like so many cafes in this part of the west highlands of Scotland, this cafe comes with a view to savour from the window. Slowly. One course after another.

Appetising cafe food, all freshly prepared, and thoroughly enjoyable. However, this is the home of a mighty good cake maker. So, if you have a sweet tooth, walk in 'just for a coffee', don't say I didn't warn you.
