It's so easy for a village café to be 'samey' but this airy, characterful building feels as warm and welcoming as the staff. Excellent service, the best coffees served up with pride by Mark who insists that unless staff can make a coffee to match his own then woe betide anyone touching his equipment! .... This is a family run business and it shows. Nothing is too much trouble and the quality of the food is consistently good, the vegetable and lentil soup is a must and with such reasonable prices and homemade cakes too, it's hard to fault it. Honley is such an interesting and characterful place with that rare thing, a thriving village high street reminiscent of the 50's. It's worth a day there to explore the old village with it's cobbled streets and quaint old weaver's cottages, pretty Magdale valley and back to The Gallery for the best scones I've tasted in a long time. Just lovely. Relaxing, friendly, good value for money and waitresses with lovely smiles. Just splendid.
