“TRIP TO HOLMFIRTH PICTUREDOME CONCERT.”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

This hotel is situated right in the center of Holmfirth. The hotel is very old and has beamed ceilings. The rooms are of a good standard and are well maintained. The food in the hotel is excellent with a good choice and plenty of it at a reasonable price. A good selection of beers and lagers ect are to be found at the bar. The breakfast is very good with a good selection.
The staff are helpfull and pleasant to speak with. The room prices are reasonable and there are different types of rooms. One room has a 4 poster bed and access to the large balcony at the front of the hotel (used to be the honeymoon suite).
Overall a great hotel to stay in with lots of character. Hotel has got limited parking but 2 minutes walk away there is free parking after 6 pm, (co-op car park).i reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room with 4 poster bed has access on to large balcony at front of hotel. Rooms higher up can give a...

I have stayed here a couple of times now on business, its location is excellent and the staff are the friendliest bunch I have met. The rooms for me are a bit of a let down, functional enough but tired and dated (Avocado Bathroom Suites from the 80's for example). The walls are thin too so you get to hear the TV and more from the room(s) next to you. The breakfast this last time was a let down which was surprising as the food at previous visits was excellent, an off day maybe.

Parking here isn't an issue, you can either park in the hotels car park, spaces are limited though. Alternatively there is a public car-park opposite, free after 5pm.

Not a bad little hotel but a bit tired and in need of refurbishment.

We stayed here overnight in August, bed and breakfast. We had an attic bedroom which was very cosy, 2 comfortable single beds and an en suite bathroom with a very good shower. We had a full English breakfast with coffe and toast, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very good hotel in a charming location.

What a lovely hotel the location is beautiful. The staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble for them. I found the hotel very homely and relaxing it is a lovely country style hotel. The food is excellent and is great value for money the portions are very generous. The rooms are clean with tea and coffee facilities and are very comfortable. My friends and I throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The executive suite is very nice and worth that little bit extra.

The location, right in the centre of Holmfirth was perfect for my purpose. The staff were polite and extremely helpful at all times. The food was excellent although I only took breakfast during my stay. The hotel single room was very comfortable and clean, but small. All amenities in the room were excellent except for the advertised internet provision which did not work in my case. The reception desk had a range of local walks of increasing difficulty printed ready to help you explore the local area. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely use the Old Bridge Hotel next time I visit Holmfirth.
My only concern during my stay was the limited number of parking places available in the car park, causing people to squeeze into tight spaces and make access difficult. I was not inconvenienced this trip, but at peak times this may cause problems for motorists.

Booked this as in centre of Holmfirth. On arrival was a little worried about proximity to busy road but we need not have been concerned. Although a bit old fashioned it was brilliant. The rooms very clean, modern TV and a sound nights sleep despite having the window open all night. The price which included one of the best hottest breakfasts any of us had eaten was more than reasonable. Evening meal was just as brilliant and an assortment of beers made my friends day. would definitely stay again.

Visited this hotel July 16th for one night. When we arrived they upgraded us to the third floor executive room (34). King size bed, 2 seater settee, leather arm chair, desk, flat screen TV and a great view of the town centre, so, not knowing the hotel, I risked it and booked us in for another night
This hotel is right at the heart of Holmfirth and is about 30 yards from the bus station.
Let me say this, if you are looking for "posh hotel with food that leaves you hungry" at a price then don't bother. If you like "good old fashioned grub" at a reasonable price then this is the place for you, but be warned make sure you take a good appetite with you, as Yorkshire folk do not do small portions.
For a reasonable price you get a standard double room (the executive room is more expensive) with full English breakfast, or whatever you want. The food selection is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is limited parking out front but if you get there early you shouldn't have a problem.
