Review of Holmfirth Vineyard

Holmfirth Vineyard
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Visited the vineyard on 4th November 2012, not a day for seeing the marvellous view due to fog but the welcome from everyone was very warm. The tour was given by the owner, a very pleasant young man, then came the wine tasting followed by an afternoon tea in the restaurant.
You don't need to tour the vineyard to enjoy the restaurant and this is a restaurant with a view down to Holmfirth, across the vineyard and would be lovely on a clear sunny day.
Definitely worth a Sunday afternoon out in beautiful Yorkshire.

Visited 5 november(Sunny!!) for tour at 3pm and then tasting then followed by sandwiches and lovely buns!
and also a glass of bubbly! The whole time spent there was lovely, the tour although no grapes on the vines was informative its on a real slope so wellies or sturdy shoes needed. I took my mum for a Birthday gift which she loved, Didnt buy any wine as it was £14.99, so a little expensive for me.
The Views are amazing!!! Thank You Holmfirth Vineyard for a Super Afternoon.

A vineyard in the Holme Valley!
Not only that, but its pulling in visitors left right and centre and has a great menu and a first class restaurant if you can get a seat!
Definitely a place you should visit next time you're in the area!

Bought a voucher off livingsocial for afternoon tea, bubbly and vineyard tour. upon ringing to book in I found very limited availability of dates, none of which was convenient, so had to squeeze this experience into a day where I had other things to do just to avoid it expiring. the person i spoke to on the phone was less than interested in this issue. not a good start!
upon arriving at the vineyard, unsure where to go/check in. then STALE sandwiches served as part of the 'afternoon tea' which comprised of tiny butties which surely only took 4 slices of bread to make in total and was meant to feed 2 people. half a scone each and half a sickly tart, then a piece of flap jack. I've had better afternoon teas let me tell you!!! and when we sent the stale sandwiches away the waiter appeared instantly with a new tray, not even attempting to pretend the new lot had been freshly made. and don't expect to choose a variety of tea- that you have to pay extra for. I think they need to understand what afternoon tea actually is before they serve it. service was poor, cups were dirty.
they were never going to recover from these errors so all I can say about the rest of the tour is average. the tour guide was nice enough but I'm not interested in how the owners decorated their farmhouse or where they earned their millions.
won't be returning and wouldn't advice anyone else who loves afternoon tea to visit. doesn't do what it says on the tin....

Bought a tour of this place including tea via Groupon. No availability as they over sold. Then offered us a tour in November. Unacceptable as we are away and who the hell wants to tour a vineyard in November? No refund, not even an apology. We buy local deals on Groupon to try new places. Guess who we won't be recommending? No customer service at all to speak of.
