Atmosphere and food very good. Spotless and very friendly. Excellent value, but you will need to book for evening meals.

“Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

After being for lunch several times, I decided to try the evening menu. And I was not disappointed. The food and service was exceptional. For either lunch or an evening meal I would definitely recommend going.

Looking forward to my next trip!

“Worth the search”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

We had a day out planned with friends around Holmfirth. We weren't familiar with the area so checked trip advisor for eateries. It wasn't easy to find, I think we asked three people including the local butcher how to find this place and we were so happy we didn't get tempted by the many places we passed on the way.
We were there at lunch time so managed to get a table, but I would recommend booking if possible because it would soon get full. There is a card on the table showing that they are booked out for Friday dinner for months ahead, not something that happens if the establishment isn't good.
The service was first class and the food was devine. It was a cold day so the soupso my friend and I had the winter vegetable soup and a sandwich, both were excellent and just what we needed to warm us up. Our husbands had baked potatoes which were generously portioned and both agreed very tasty.
The coffee was good, proper barista, not the push button type. All this and so reasonably priced.
Definitely worth searching for. Hope Nick continues in his success.

“DEFINATELY ONE TO TRY - EXCELLENT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

We booked an evening reservation on the back of reviews and are so pleased we did.
We arrived and Nick was in his kitchen on the ground floor, we were shown to our table upstairs - there were 2 tables of 4 and 1 table of 2 guests (this is the size of the restaurant).
There was a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 deserts - very similar in price and all excellent - my husband said it was the best seabass he had eaten in years!
The waitress was professional, we were served a selection of olives and bread ahead of our starters.
The portions were not massive but just right and the courses excellent - although we had various options all were equally as well presented and very tasty.
This restaurant is going to get very busy and part of me wanted to not place a review because of this but equally we would not have gone if it hadn't of been for trip advisor - so its only fair we share our findings with other fellow potential visitors.
Nick sent us an example of his evening menu via e mail ahead of our reservation - this wasn't on the website but gave us a flavour of what we could expect to find on the evening.
Good luck NICK on your business - you deserve to do well.
