“Can not wait to go again!!! Wonderful”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

My boyfriend and I have just come back from a lovely night at The Huntsman Inn, the 'booze and snooze' promotion is a great offer at a great price. It was absolutely wonderful, staff are lovely and helpful, rooms are beautifully decorated, the evening meal was excellent and the complimentary bottle of wine was to our taste. The breakfast is also good as there is a lot of choice. We will be going back soon, we wish we could have stayed for longer. There was a welcome letter written to us left on the bed and a lovely box of chocolates. The room itself was lovely and warm which is great for me as I am always cold. The only thing missing was that there were no beans on the breakfast menu, but we can live with that... Overall a fantastic weekend

Room Tip: Room 12 is a very nice room

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to write a review.

I'm sorry your weren't offered beans at breakfast as you should have been.
Let me know when you are visiting again and I will ensure you have an extra large portion :)

Kind Regards

Paul

First of all - only marked it down by one star because of the poor choice of real ales, only two on offer and then the brewery's (J W Lees) own brands. If that doesn't bother you - then its 5 star all the way.

My wife and I booked the 'booze and snooze' offer through Late Rooms at £95 dbb inc bottle of house wine (we had the Merlot very nice) and a £40 dinner allowance. (Note: book same deal direct with hotel).

The Huntsman has been refurbished recently and to a very high standard and taste. Nice bar area and the restaurant is large but cozy with tables spaced well apart. The rooms, I assume, are all a bit different, we stayed in room 1 (a disabled room - although we ourselves are not) and it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable.

Can't really fault anything (apart from the choice of real beer), the meal was very good indeed and the staff excellent, very friendly and attentive.

The place itself is high on the moors, with spectacular scenery and walking around.

Room Tip: For a view, the upper rooms I would think.

We were on a booze and snooze - the room was extremely comfortable and very clean. Menu choice was varied and all the food was presented and cooked very well. House wine included which was drinkable. Breakfast choice and quality was excellent.

This venue, in a semi-remote location, is a wonderful find.
With various 'deals' on offer there is something to suit any occasion.
The newly refurbished rooms are cosy, excellent and come with many 'freebies'.
The restaurant (a converted stable block) serves a very good selection of excellent food and the breakfast is awesome.
With friendly staff and all the above this hotel is great value for money and is only a few miles away from the Holmfirth Vineyard, which is also worth a visit.

Room Tip: Individual rooms for individual taste.

We stayed at the huntsman on the dine n duvet deal. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the attention to detail made our stay so special. The superb accommodation was only equalled by the quality of food served in the restaurant and breakfast. We can't wait to return.

What a bargain!

We booked in here on the £100 booze n stay. Includes £20 each on food and the bottle of house wine. We were able to pay and upgrade the wine which was nice and the rooms were lovely. Would have liked a window that could open and the linen was a little tired, but you can't have everything. A word of warNing on the food- there are some good dishes but there is also a standard theme of 'iceberg lettuce' starters - which is a cheap wayto bulk out a starter - ESP when the same base is used for all of them. We had mixed mains and desserts and they were kind enough to say 'we won't charge for dessert' As the custard tart was dry - which considering it was in the room rate meant we saved nothing!!! It's got a good atmosphere and as long as you are not a foodie you will enjoy your stay

Hi

I am really sorry to hear your comments around the food, as you can see from the majority of the reviews on here this is highly unusual.

I will ensure I review the menu and quality with my executive chef.

Kind Regards

10 of us recently stayed here overnight. All the rooms we had were very clean and nicely furnished. There are lots of little extras in rooms. The choice at breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a lovely location . The staff were polite and helpful and the bar area is cosy and welcoming. Cannot fault this place.
