“Beautiful as always”

I have been to this hotel many many times, it's everything we look for and love in a hotel, the service is fantastic the 2 young men behind the bar are lovely all the restaurant staff are really friendly, we went again last night to check out the new rooms, they are beautiful lovely views over the fields of sheep, really modern and homely, some nice chocolate treats and a personal note on our bed, we always opt for the booze and snooze as value for money is fantastic so much to choose from and it's always different, £75 for the beautiful room, 3 course meal bottle of wine and bed and breakfast reccomended this hotel to so many family and friends who all love it,

Just returned from another lovely Booze and Snooze overnight stay at The Huntsmen.

All the rooms have now had a make over and look stunning!
They are all individually decorated and the new bedding and finishing touches make such a difference.
The attention to detail is fab with gorgeous handmade chocolates set out on the bed, bottled water and hot chocolate/ tea/coffee /biscuits and a gift of homemade soap in the bathrooms.

The menu's have had a makeover too and as always the food was lovely.
The breakfast is legendary and you can literally have whatever you want.

The staff as always were great and Paul , who is the most down to earth bloke you will ever meet, should feel really proud of the service they provide.

The Huntsmen is a wonderful place with good food, stunning views, lush rooms and lovely staff. That's why so many of us go so regularly!

Room Tip: All the rooms are stunning but the ones with the exposed stone walls and beams are the best ones.

I stayed on Sunday for a kind of last minute valentines gift and I am so glad I did. We love staying in chilled out places with that country pub style, i.e. good quality food with a modern twist and this was the ideal place. Paul and the team were extremely friendly and the new refurb is quite special as we were more than surprised with the high quality finish to the rooms. You can obviously see where the £100k has been spent and as the title suggests, by far better than a number of London hotels where I have stayed.

The food was something else, my wife had the calves liver and I polished off the lamb shoulder, bottle of red and we were done. With big smiles on our faces we were more than impressed, not only was the food of such a high standard but my skills of rummicub proved successful as I won 3-0....

Anyway, with the offer of booze and snooze we will definitely be returning with the family....

Well recommended to people wanting a quality break!!!

Gorgeous food very polite and friendly staff . The rooms are so comfortable and the decor was lovely excited to book again with family as it was a treat and very enjoyable .
The breakfast delicious and such a wide selection from cereal to big fat cooked breakfast . With the reservoir just down the road great way to finish booze and snooze with a walk .

We took up one of there booze and snooze offers, it was great value, good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Not a bad thing to say. We were the first group to stay in the newly refurbished rooms and they were finished to a good standard can't wait to come back soon.

We had our wedding reception at The Huntsman in November 2012 and from the beginning of our planning through to the day itself the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

We dropped off our table decorations and other items for the reception a couple of days before and the staff set up our tables and the room beautifully. The day went perfectly and the staff helped to ensure that the day flowed and that all of our guests were well looked after. Lots of our guests commented on the excellent quality (and quantity) of the food for both the sit down meal and the evening buffet, and the quality of the house wine. The staff did not get flustered when our speeches (which were before the meal) over-ran and the meal was served straight after and was served quickly to all tables.

Many of our guests stayed at the venue and really enjoyed the breakfasts and the bedrooms were very clean, tidy and modern.

Thank you so much to all the staff for making our wedding day so special!

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite is stunning!!

Visited here yesterday with some friends who live locally, they'd said the food was good, but you never know what to expect, do you...

Anyway, all looked very tempting, in particular the specials board and most of us ordered from there. They do a typical Sunday lunch, 3 courses for £14.95 until 1:30pm, price goes up a few pounds after that, plus the standard menu which again had lots of choice, all of which looked good.

I had moussaka stuffed aubergine, which was served with a greek salad on the side and garlic ciabatta. Husband had oriental belly pork, both off the specials menu. Food was delicious and really well presented too. Clean plates all round said it all.

Pricewise, our mains were £10.95 and £13.95 respectively, which for the standard of food we received was good value I thought.

Would definitely visit again.
