Café Mila, just off Godalming’s historic High Street, is a wonderful spot. What makes it so special is the combination of its setting (a sheltered courtyard away from the traffic) and the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by owner Steve and his cheerful staff. It's one of the most friendly places I've been to in a long while.
It helps that the coffee is good, while the cakes and food, all baked/made on the premises, are excellent. I liked it so much that I visited twice, once with a friend for Sunday brunch (which was excellent) and then again one afternoon the following week for a more extended visit.
It's a great place to sit outside since the courtyard is away from the traffic, while if you want to sit inside, you have a choice between the bustling downstairs and the quieter, more relaxed upstairs. If you can't find the perfect spot for you, it's probably because someone else has got there first!
