“Delicious generous meals”
Reviewed May 23, 2014 via mobile

First meal here tonight. Wanted to write a review straight away as the food was delicious! Ordered cajun chicken and pork belly. We both loved our meals which were very generous. I recommend booking as it was fully booked. We had a drink out in the garden first which was lovely. Service was a bit rushed but still good. Will be back again very soon :-)

“Warm welcome, good food”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Ate here on Sunday evening. We were staying nearby and had been advised to book a table in advance as it gets busy.

The welcome was warm and service friendly and good. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was delicious. The sizzling steak was cooked to perfection and the portions were very generous. We can't comment on the puddings as we were too full to try them!

Thoroughly enjoyable meal, shame they are closed on Mondays.

We have been here a couple of times recently and have been very impressed with the quality of the meals.
Great food, lovely flavours and a brilliant choice of dishes and deserts.
Went on Sunday with our son and his girlfriend and we all had the Carvery".......brilliant!
Can't fault this place, will be back!

“great meal”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

Lovely pub, great food. Very busy but still managed to be friendly and helpful. It was my daughters birthday which I mentioned when booking and we arrived to find balloons on the table which was very thoughtful. The sizzling steaks were very tasty, the beer battered cod was huge and lovely and crispy. Desserts lovely... all in all a great night and very reasonably priced.

“A Traditional Pub”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

This was our second visit to the Pheasant, so the fact we returned could be taken as a good sign.
Last time we sat out in the beer garden, and enjoyed lunch in the sunshine. This time we sat inside for an evening meal. Both times the food was reasonably priced and of good quality.

Basically The Pheasant is a good honest family run country pub with an ample choice of beers and a varied menu. It's actually refreshing not to walk into a Gastro Pub these days, and be charged £8 for an Oak Smoked Vintage Cheddar Cheese Sandwich or £5 for a pint of Continental lager.
