From the outside it looks like something from Harry Potter, but when you walk into the main bar/restaurant you get a pleasant surprise. Very modern looking.

We booked a table for a Friday night and glad we did as the restaurant was fully booked. Many people were turned away disappointed.

If you sit at the back of the bar you get to the see the chef at work. A nice touch.

Food was lovely. If you go expecting pub food prices then you will be shocked. However a 3 course meal with coffee and drinks came to £70 so not bad really.

Would definitely visit the bar and restaurant again next time we are in Wookey Hole.

We only had a main course each, but all four were well cooked with excellent ingredients and most enjoyable. The portion of lamb I had was generous and delicious, though a few more veggies would have been welcome. At around £18 per main course, it isn't cheap, but didn't begrudge it due to the excellence of the meal. Pleasant unfussy service. Good selection of local beers available.

We happened across this lovely period inn thanks to a recommendation from guests staying at a nearby popular hotel. What a find! The menu was varied and interesting - the food was beautifully presented and simply delicious.

The service we recieved was excellent, efficient and friendly. What a winning combination!

Highly recommended.

Having just come back form the most testing motorbike ride that I've done, still shivering I am still finding the strength to make sure that the Wooky Hole inn gets a top rating review before I get into a bath.
If your looking for somewhere that has some of the best food that you will ever taste that is set in one of the most beautifull parts of the country, and a welcome that you would expect from angles them this is the place to go.
I all my years of traveling I have never felt so welcome and enjoyed a stay so much a must to visite and a definite to be returning to!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Roll top bath

I have to disagree with people sayng the food is not good. My fiancee and I first came here in March last year and have been back a few times since. I cant comment on the rooms but evertime we have been the food has been excellent and the atmosphere exceptional. The owners and staff are the friendliest i have encountered anywhere we have been in somerset and i have no complaints at all. Keep up the good work guys.

Four of us went to lunch here on a sunny day in late March. It was a joy to find this place open (as the previous 3 nearby pubs we'd tried were all closed !). Their real ale was supplied by the local Glastonbury Ales. Two of us tried their Golden Chalice ale, which we both agreed was first class. The lunch of cold poached salmon with side orders of chips and salad was tasty, well presented and good value for money. The table cloths were heavy duty paper, and a large set of crayons was in prime position on each table. Create your own Art (or a boring business flow chart) over a meal and take it away - what a brilliant idea. The back garden (a bit too chilly for us to venture into) is large with 60s Statues and Mosaics abounding. Another plus is a decent car park just past the Inn on the other side of the road. This place also has rooms, which might be worth looking into, though we didn't.

My husband and I stayed at the Wookey Hole Inn for 3 nights towards the end of our month-long honeymoon across a good part of England and it was the BEST! We felt so at home in the Bohemian atmosphere and the food squashed any negative American chatter of English food - it was superb. After 32 days in England, we sent 2 postcards when back in Vermont - 1 to a fascinating fellow we met on our last night and the other to the Wookey Hole Inn! The Wookey Hole attraction was the most vintage attraction we have ever run into and didn't even mind spending one of the only warm sunny days inside. And then just a walk back to our inn? Lovely! We were tickled by the blue sparkle bathroom, the healthy breakfast basket, the low bed, and the huge selection of VHS tapes. It ALL hit the spot - we are determined to come back!
