Owner description: The National Centre for Birds of Prey at Duncombe Park is the largest collection of these amazing birds in the north of England. You will find over 100 owls, eagles, vultures, falcons, hawks kites and more in a spacious 10 acre setting. We are a leader in the captive breeding, welfare and conservation of these awesome birds. Please don't compare us to other bird of prey centres, we are in a different league! We have a team of trained bird who fly three times a day (11.30, 14.00 & 16.15 ) Different birds are flown at each demo. We even have an indoor area if the weather isn't being kind. In recognition of the quality of the National Centre for Birds of Prey - we won our category in the White Rose Awards, the UK's largest regional tourism awards.
Useful Information: Bathroom facilities, Activities for older children, Activities for young children, Food available for purchase, Stroller parking, Wheelchair access

This place is amazing! We went expecting just to see a few birds, but it's so much bigger than we expected. We spent a few hours just wandering round looking at all the birds in their lovely big aviaries. So many different kinds! We only watched two of the flying demos because we had to go, but they were brilliant and we'll be back again we hope! The kids absolutely loved it. And the cafe was lovely too

This is the best bird of prey centre I've been to. The number and variety of birds is more like a zoo than your usual bird of prey centre. The staff are amazing, having expertise, put on spectacular, engaging and humorous displays and will chat all day with guests. There's a lot to do there but wristbands mean you can explore the parkland walks, children's play area or even Helmsley in between displays. We will be back soon!

The only thing I'd add to the other reviews is you can come and go as you please with the wristband. We arrived 10am and didn't go till closing, there's a lot to see in the centre but there's children's play and woodland walks within Duncombe Park or visitors could easily mix it with visiting Helmsley castle/village/Friday market as Duncombe Park is actually in the village. We had a fantastic long day out, and will be visiting again this year

We recently visited the newly opened Birds of Prey Centre and had a thoroughly enjoyable family day out. We found the venue to be reasonably priced with good facilities eg restrooms, seating. The café was lovely and clean with good food and the gift shop was well set out too. We found that all the staff were very friendly with an excellent knowledge of all the birds / animals which is so nice to see in this day and age. We would definitely visit again. Congratulations on such a great friendly place.

I've been to quite a few bird of prey centres and this is certainly the best I've been to. The birds are well-cared for and the handlers have a real empathy for these beautiful creatures. There is a fantastic range of different birds and the 3 daily flying displays are just brilliant - take your camera! The entry prices are very reasonable. You can spend all day there as there are picnic tables, space for the kids to have a run about between flying displays and a cafe that serves great coffee. I will definately be back!
