Fine dining gone mad very pretentious and not what we were expecting. The building is beautiful and the interior is also nice has making it a very comfortable place to be. On the Sunday night we ate at the Pheasant there was a large party and because of this we were unable to choose from the allocated menu for the evening and instead had to have their set a la carte option which was three courses. We had already told the staff we wanted to eat from the market menu advertised and ordered wine and were drinking it before they explained the position. Note the restaurant did reduce the cost to compensate but it was still £95 including a bottle of wine. We were also the only diners in the restaurant - the large party were sat in a separate room. This meant that there was little atmosphere at all.
The food whilst good was very rich and did make both of us feel ill the next day, maybe we just don't have the stomach for this type of food. Sorry and I am sure you have a great following as the large party seamed to be enjoying themselves very much but it's just not our choice
Note the service was very good but due to the lack of communication regarding the menu I can only mark it as average
