Description: The Granary Tearoom The Old Granary is full of charm and character with its original oak beams and small latted windows and is a delightful place to meet up with friends and enjoy traditional farmhouse fayre. It is extremely comfortable and warm (a bitterly cold day in December at the time of writing!). All the hot water and heating in the Farmshop & Tearoom is supplied from a very efficient woodchip burner which is Mark's pride and joy!!We serve freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea and Coopers Coffee together with home baked scones, cakes and pastries, farmhouse breakfasts, cooked lunches and afternoon teas with "Specials" on the menu every day. All meals are cooked fresh to order and the ingredients may be purchased in the Farmshop! On Sundays we serve a traditional Sunday lunch of Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding and booking is advisable. The Farmshop & Tearoom is licensed and we offer an excellent selection of wines and beers etc. For customers unable to negotiate the stairsthere are two tables in the Farmshop with waitress service.Meals can be taken at the picnic tables in the covered foldyard next to the Childrens' Play Area and during the summer months we have tables and chairs outside in the sunshine!Farm Shop Customers can enjoy a "Unique Farm Shopping Experience" in lovely surroundings and purchase fresh farm produce "a complete meal" and enjoy tea and coffee and farmhouse baking in our traditional Granary Tearoom. We provide ample freeparking, toilets and disabled access.Pride of place in the Farmshop is our fresh meat counter with our own resident Butcher who can offer you advice about particular cuts of meat and cooking instructions! The counter is full of our home grown beef together with lamb, pork, local free range poultry, game, sausages, burgers, "Jenny's Wellies", Mark's Tractor Wheels, Chicken parcels, Yorkshire bacon, gammon and so much more!!Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered daily and to compliment the fresh, seasonal produce we have freezers full of a great selection of loose fruit and vegetables which are all prepared ready to go straight into the oven. We also sell "Cooks" Frozen Ready Meals which are very popular with our customers. They are excellent quality and very good value. We have two Cooks's Freezers full of savoury meals in both one and twoportions and also puddings, roulades and cheesecakes for special occasions. A fifth freezer is bursting with our own homemade fruit and savory pies, gravies, baking and Brymor Ice Cream made with milk from their herd of Jersey cows at Jervaulx, Masham. Our Deli Counter offers a wide selection of Yorkshire cheeses including Yorkshire Blue, Jervaulx Blue, Cotherstone, Smoked Applewood, numerous varieties from Wensleydale Creameries, Mature Cheddar from Botton Village to name but a few! Alongside the cheese we have home cooked meats, pates, port and game pies, quiches, pastries and salads all prepared in our own kitchen upstairs. To complete the shop there is dairy produce, fresh bread and cakes from Norton Bakery, Yoadwath Mill smoked fish, pickles and preserves from award winning Bracken Hill Preserves based at Elvington, York, local honey, Bothams biscuits, YorkshireTea and Coopers Coffee and much, much more .........."Fridays are Fish Days" at the Farmshop & Tearoom. Mick Burns brings fresh fish from Grimsby and sells this from his van from 9.30 a.m. until approx. 2.00 p.m.

“Outstanding quality and value for money!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014

I love the Beadlam Grange Farmshop and Cafe. I keep going back, time and time again and I keep bringing friends and family to it when they visit and they invariably ask to go back.

The cafe serves wonderfully fresh food that is locally sourced, very well cooked and appetisingly presented. From Ploughman's lunches to the daily special, to afternoon tea, there isn't a weak link in the establishment. The staff are always friendly and helpful - it is spotlessly clean and suitable to all tastes and ages (in my opinion). The selection of hot & cold drinks and food is enough to satisfy any palate.

The farmshop is just as good. We often by meat from the butchery, which is as tasty as you'll find anywhere. Their selection of cheeses is vast. Their pies are also very, very tasty.

It is just as good for a midweek breakfast/lunch as it is for Sunday lunch.

“Unique experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014

Where else can you sit in a barn on picnic tables with heat lamps, surrounded by mini-tractors and real calves for the children, farm shop produce, deli-fare, a chocolate shop and other choice specialist outlets? The food is top-notch and the staff and service are excellent. And our dogs didn't need to be left behind in the car.

“Friendly, professional and good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

Situated midway between the North Yorkshire market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside Beadlam Grange sits at the end of a private drive about 100 metres south of the A170 highway. It is clearly signposted on the road. Set in former farm buildings you will find 'farmer's market' style shopping with a butcher, greengrocer, posh freezer food (Iceland this is not!), fancy ice cream and all the other usual add-ons. Not cheap, but the quality looks good and there is some emphasis on locally sourced items.

The restaurant is upstairs, nicely set out and welcoming. Service is American style - wait to be seated and a friendly server will find you and take you to a table. If it's full, and I expect it often is, they'll hold a table for you when one comes available. Open lunch and afternoon, the menu is a mix of cafe and pub food from hearty sandwiches through to cooked main dishes. Nothing is priced above a tenner for a main dish and what you get is well prepared and good value fare. We waited about 20 minutes from order to main dish service but our beverages arrived promptly.

In the barn area downstairs there is a rowdy corner for youngsters, their dads and granddads. It is provided with an array of ride-on toys - tractors and the like and gets very noisy. There are tables and chairs nearby and the helpful staff will serve your meal here if you wish.

Altogether this is a good stopping place on your way to Scarborough or Whitby. There's nothing not to like but you may end up spending more than you intended when you see the food shop!

“Delicious Sunday Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

We visited the farm on Sunday as a party of eight , four children and four adults. Some had the roast, some the platters...all were delicious! The puddings and ckes were also very lovely and the deluxe hot chocolate looked amazing. We were entertained by farmer Mark, who told us all about the history of the farm and it's conversion, and also entertained our children with his repertoire of tricks. We will definitely visit again.

“Had breakfast-went back for lunch !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

We found this place looking for breakfast on a lazy Sunday, lovely greeting from Bob the spaniel in the farm shop downstairs before going up into the cafe. I had a delicious bacon sarnie while my husband had a mound of scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon draped all over the top, his favourite!

We were so impressed we returned for lunch a few days later and had homemade pies, hot pork pie with mushy peas for me and 'pie of the day' venison with veg and roast potatoes for my husband, both very tasty, lovely pastry and nicely cooked veg. Wish were here for longer so we could try Sunday lunch, next time for sure!
