We have just returned from a two night break in which I can only describe as the best hotel in the uk. We were made to feel special from the moment we arrived. The staff are the best I have ever encountered. The owners have created a luxuriously place to stay complimented by the exquisite food. The spa although small is perfectly designed to create a welcoming and relaxing ambience.

My husband and I stayed at the Feversham arms with another couple just after the New Year. When we arrived we had a very friendly welcome. Our rooms weren't ready so we decided to go to the spa for the afternoon. The spa was very nice but it was very small there are only 3 different heat rooms. The outdoor hot tub and pool was lovely though. The spa is not the kind of place where you can while away hours because it is simply too small and lacks an area to sit and relax. My other main criticism of the spa was that the towels provided were very small and we had champage in the spa but were given plastic tumblers plastic flutes would have been more apporpriate. I had a facial and my husband had a massage which was really really good as good a spa treatment as I've had.
Our room was small but the bathroom was lovely and overall it was fine but not amazing.
The restaurant clearly has michelin aspirations and we didnt think it was far off but they need to improve their service and they lacked a good sommelier. Overall the food was really good and we really enjoyed the meal, the cheese board was partcularly good and generous.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Feversham arms.

Loved our stay here and would come back again and again and again....

We got a good deal for Valentine's day including a meal in the restaurant - room was fab and breakfast was served to us in our room. The highlight was swimming in the outdoor heated pool and relaxing in the hot-tub at which point it started to snow, awwww!

Have just returned from a 1 night food lovers break at The Feversham Arms what a lovely break ,my only regret is that we couldn't stay a little longer. The poolside suite was cosy and warm quality toiletries and the lovely lavender 'sheep dip'in the bathroom.
Cream tea in one of the comfy lounges and dinner (taster menu ) in the stylish but unpretentious dining room were all lovely. Each member of staff we encountered ,on reception in the spa or restaurant and the porter who took us to our room and showed us what we needed to know were all pleasant polite and friendly. There was a problem with the airconditioning unit outside our room and consequently we did not get the best nights sleep, however the hotel were most apologetic and generously reduced our bill .Thankyou.(the repair man arrived before we left so keen were they to resolve the problem) Would i return? most definately! am planning my next visit already. PS Wallace our well travelled dog was also made very welcome

This hotel has something really special, great location, wonderful unintimidating spa and treatment rooms, fantastic food and relaxing cosy rooms. What sets this hotel apart is the level of service from the moment you arrive to when you reluctantly check out. The staff and I say this without exception seemed to pride themselves on catering to their guests every need. All with genuine care and concern. A lovely touch was that every staff member remembered our names and even what we liked to drink and what we had chosen for dinner the previous evening. A final word of warning to anybody watching their waistlines, tea and coffee is served with complimentary cake, the lemon drizzle is particularly irresistible! We stayed in a suite with a open fire which I would recommend especially for a special occasion.

Excellent for a short romantic getaway. The food in the restaurant is very tasty. The chef is obviously very talented. If the service was tweaked it would be Michellin standard. Some may think the portions small, being of the "nouveau" style. For the considerable price they could be more generous. This is even true of the breakfast - excellent quality but you'd think the Yorkshire breakfast might have been somewhat more "hearty". The service in the restaurant was ok but there are little details that could be improved by more experienced waiters.

Top notch under-stated service from the front desk. We found the hotel's experienced staff to be friendly and confident. There are some less experienced staff in the restaurant. No complaints though.

The room was on the small side but large enough for our needs. Nice touches abound and the bed was 100% comfortable and generously sized. Although facing the street there was no noise once we had closed the rather cheap-looking secondary glazing. One criticism: There was noise from the plumbing to other rooms and it was loud enough to wake us once during the night. This is a problem that is not going to be easy for them to fix!

We arrived for a special birthday break having had an interesting journey, with a "special delivery of snow" on our journey, to be greeted by an expert team who instantly made us feel welcome and pampered. The suite (room 30) was excellent, with it's own log stove and Christmas tree. The decor, space, equipment, toiletries were second to none. A card and birthday cake completed a feeling that we were indeed welcome guests. The dining experience was first rate and cocktails made with the same attention to detail as all other services over our three night stay. The outdoor pool steaming and beautifully lit and the spa were very welcome after a brave attempt to slide along the Cleveland Way. Every aspect of this hotel is designed to create a perfect break and the best feature is without doubt the staff who are attentive and professional but with a genuine warmth. We have experienced many hotels at home and abroad and this is one of the best. Would we return? yes as soon as possible !
