I have been to quiet a few spas in my time.. some good.. some excellent.. and only one I classed as really.. really poor.. that has got to be this one ! For goodnesss sake if you're booking a teen pamper.. don't bother !! The facilities are small and squashed together..nothing like what is shown on the photos.. and staff do not have a clue how to deal with or speak to young teenagers !
This was an absolute rip off for kids !
If you're expecting a decent selection of snacks/lunchtime sandwiches etc.. forget it !
A selection of sandwiches for one person worked out a £18.50 (EACH) and Coffee/tea £3.95 per cup..ridiculously overpriced ! I paid just over £350.. for half a day in the spa with 3 teenagers..with one half hour treatment for the girls ..and a manicure had we not had to leave so early as a result of the snow ! (An adult needs to pay £25 each to supervise the teens in the spa also). In it's favour.. the kids actually enjoyed the half hour facial they had .. they also got a nice gift of Elemis skin products to leave with.
It would have, however, worked out a lot cheaper, having a full weekend break in Centre Parcs with all the spa facilities available there....I would certainly not waste my money going here again...NEVER AGAIN !

This hotel is heaven on earth. The service, room and food quality were second to none. Simon and his staff are so geared up to ensuring perfection is achieved. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone - it is the best.

My husband and I spend the most amazing night here. From the minute we walked through the door the welcome and service was exceptional. Room 27 was as comfortable as we hoped and we made good use of the double ended bath and luxurious Sheep Dip bubble bath that was provided. Wonderful Occitane products are also provided. It was a special ocassion for us and they even provided us with a special cake. We enjoyed the 5 course taster menu and indulged in the recommended wines to accompany each course - the food was amazing. We also had use of the Verbena Spa whilst we were there and enjoyed a fantastic massage - the first my husband had ever had. Breakfast in our room topped it all off nicely.

This truly was the most amazing break we have ever had and we will certainly be visiting here again.

Our stay in this hotel was perfect! The greeting by staff was welcoming and we were shown to our room - fantastic and they even had given me a birthday cake and card - very nice touch. We went to the spa which was lovely - very nice to sit in lounge area relax and eat and drink whilst reading their magazines and then pop back into steam room for more. The outdoor pool was lovely temperature to swim in even in October and the hot tub I could have stayed there all day with lovely surroundings and sun shining down. Our evening meal was excellent - nuts and olives whilst having pre dinner drink followed by the tasting menu. We finished with coffee served in their cosy lounge and were brought petit fours - mmmmm! I couldn't fault our stay here and the service was excellent! Looking forward to returning soon!!

We stayed at the Feversham Arms for 3 nights towards the end of September. We were delighted to be told on checking in that were being upgraded to a suite. What a difference it makes having your own lounge. Tea was brought to our room each morning, without charge.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel, particularly the friendliness, courtesy and efficiency of the staff. Although Helmsley has a few pubs, we found the hotel's bar to be very comfortable and, with 2 real ales on tap, it kept us both happy. It was very nice of the boss (who is also from Edinburgh) to take some time out to chat with us too.

Helmsley is a great base for exploring the North York Moors National Park. We were lucky to experience a real Indian summer. There are some beautiful wee towns and villages in the area. We'd definitely recommend the Feversham Arms.

We stayed here for one night. we booked into the spa which is a must, and had a couple of treatments. We then checked into our room which was upgraded as they were quiet and knew we were celebrating an occasion- this was a lovely treat. We also ate in the main restaurant, and the dinner was very nice. We had breakfast delivered to our room for no extra charge-another lovely treat. This did all add up to a good sized bill but it was worth it, and it is not something you get to do very often.

Just came back from our 2 night stay at the feversham arms. Very relaxing to say the least!
We got to the hotel to find out we had been upgraded to the deluxe pool suite which had a fireplace, amazing double bed, heated floor bathroom with huge bath and walk in shower! Candles, incense and bubble bath all provided. And oh the l'occtaine products! I didn't use my own once (and I'm quite fussy with the products I use!). The touches were very sweet and certainly added to make us feel very special! My partner had booked it for my birthday and when we arrived there was a birthday cake and card from the staff waiting for me!

The verbena spa was utter bliss! We seemed to come at a really good time of the week because the spa was quiet and we had everything all to ourselves! The sauna, aromatherapy, salt inhalation room, foot spa and hot tub! The only thing that was a bit of a downer was the rasul. There just wasn't enough mud for two and the heated room was to hot and even when you step out of the chamber theres not a lot of space to breathe. We only stayed in there for 20 minutes but still had to pay the full amount.
I also had a Jessica deluxe pedicure and my partner had a facial, both good but bit pricey.

Food. Was not quite sold on. I think it was all a bit pretentious. On the first evening I had the tasting menu, I thought it was quite salty. What happened to simplicity? Game terrine? Monkfish and chorizo? Apple financier? I wanted some simple, tasty yorkshire food and unfortunately had to go to the black swan hotel around the corner for that. The breakfasts however were tasty and you can choose exactly what you wanted!
