Amazing place runner by the family. Excellent Wine tasting experience that everyone should try! Great atmosphere and food so yummy... tastefully prepared and presented. An excellent customer care. Mrs Jane found a time to get in conversation with every guest that made experience even better. We would definitely recommend to others and we soon will be back.

On a cold grey January day 6 friends enjoyed a wonderful, entertaining and informative wine tasting event followed by a delicious lunch. Warm in a modern restaurant in the beautiful countryside we tasted the sounds and smells of summer and learned so much about the ancient art of wine making from our knowledgeable and friendly host, Jame.

We sampled 6 well crafted wines from the West Street Vineyard and nearby vineyards then moved onto excellent well prepared dishes from the varied menu.

The visit brightened up our winter's day. In the summer the weather, the atmosphere and historic buildings in nearby Coggeshall will make an amazing day out from London. If you don't have a designated driver, you could easily take the train from Liverpool Street to Marks Tey station then the bus to the vineyard.

We purchased a travel-zoo voucher to go wine tasting at West Street Vineyard and it included a 2 course lunch.
For the money we paid for the voucher it was exceptionally good value, we tasted 6 wines (2 were guest wines from another local vineyard & the other 4 grown, produced and sold at the vineyard) the owner talked us through the tastings and is very knowledgeable about the growing, production & bottling processes. It was very interesting to listen to her.
The 2 course lunch was very tasty. The service was Very slow (that is why I gave 4 star instead of 5) but everything was freshly prepared and cooked and the quality of the food great.
We noticed the vineyard has several evenings advertised for 70's & 80's music, tapas & other food - I'm sure these would be worth going to with a group of friends.
They also have a private function room to hire and a decking area to sit out when the weather improves.
Disabled access is onsite although the car park has fine gravel which could provide difficult is pushing a wheelchair or pushchair.

I would recommend visiting & although its winter time now the vineyard is still very pretty. I'm sure it changes during each season and is worth visiting just to enjoy the views.

This restaurant is an old favourite of ours, so we were looking forward to returning for a family meal
So disappointed.
Service was slow, we felt ignored by staff who seemed to be preoccupied with laying out tables or the wine tasting event.
Eventually we had to ask for Menus.
Our Starters arrived quite quickly and was enjoyed by all.
After which there was a very long wait between starters and main course.
When it finally arrived it looked amazing and very tempting, But from the first mouthful my dinner was cold one of my guests felt his could have been hotter but did not want to complain.
My dinner was returned to the Kitchen I was asked if I wanted something else but frankly the first meal took so long to turn up I wasn't certain of getting anything before my party was ready to leave.
How can a supposedly quality Chef turn out such interesting and fantastic looking food without ensuring it is hot enough to be enjoyed ?
When did an old favourite, efficient and friendly restaurant lose its edge?
