“Modern Rural Hotel, a must stay !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Very modern hotel half way between Dorchester and Yeovil, probably the best sleep i have experienced from a hotel stay, the rooms are spacious and very clean, my room had a shower and a bath, with all modern fixtures and fittings the shower had a large spray head which had the correct pressure for a perfect shower, a good choice of breakfast with cereals, pastries, English etc, the staff are very friendly, a great get away from it all.

Four of us stayed on Monday 6th of May. We have stayed here before and we were not disappointed. Everything was great we asked for 2 rooms together one with shower and one with a bath a view if possible and we got everything we asked for. Very good service by everyone we dealt with, the bonus was evening meal being looked after by Matthew while everyone else was faultless Matthew looked after us with endless patience and courtesy. What a delight to meet such a professional!! Matthew you will excel in whatever you do! Many thanks to all.

A modern hotel, which is a real delight and the best modern hotel I have found in the area. Although a little isolated and about 8 miles from Dorchester it is an excellent place to stay. The staff are very friendly, the place is generally spacious including the bedrooms. All the usual facilities are provided along with a vast and comfortable super kingsize bed.

The main road is just to the front, but the hotel is set back and there is virtually no traffic noise. The view from the front rooms is over the rolling countryside and if you’re lucky there could be a nice sunset.

The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The wifi connection is not bad. The restaurant food is good and the semi-self serve breakfast is very nice with real coffee.

A lot of thought has gone into this place with some nice touches and the results are very good. This is my fourth time here, and I don’t go back to somewhere that I have issues with. Excellent!

I, and members of my extended family went to this Hotel on 4th may 2013, for a family wedding.Although the Hotel is approx 9 miles outside of Dorchester in Dorset, on the main Yeovil road it is very easy to fing and to get to. First impressions as you drive in are it looks a little like a Premier Inn, although this is soon dispelled as you walk into the foyer. Very bright and airey, smart attentive staff, clean surroundings and pleasant seating as you go in, there is also a bar next to the reception, where you can get a fine array of drinks and coffee or tea or whatever you require. The function room where the wedding receptioin was held was a large pleasant room, the table layout was excellant, it was nice to see clean glasses and cutlery on the tables. The waiter and waitress service was superb, each table held 8 guests, 4 waiters came out to each table at a time and on a nod from the head waiter all the meals were placed on the table at the same time. The food was superb, lovely beef, vegetables and georgeous roast potatoes.I am also lead to believe that they do a carvery most days, which is also highly rated. The sweet was to die for, need I say more! My family members who were staying said the rooms were lovely.

We stayed one night at the George Albert and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds.

The customer service was excellent and despite there being a wedding on the evening we stayed we were made to feel like valued guests and we were not disturbed by any noise. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and dealt with requests with ease.

The hotel is situated just off the main A road and there's nowhere to eat or drink that is walking distance from the hotel - we had intended to head out but ended up eating there, the food is good and reasonably priced.

The hotel does seem best placed to target the function / business / group market but we stayed as a couple on a weekend break and it worked great for us.

Would stay again.

We had our stay bought for us by our son for christmas, so we didn't not much about the hotel.
We had a brilliant surprise. The hotel is brilliant, the some of the food was al a carte it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. All on all it was a hotel we would defintely recommend to others and go back to.
