My company provides murder mysteries throughout the UK and Channel Islands and we work in a plethora of hotels which are as varied as you can get. The George Albert Hotel is a gem that is well worth a visit.
When you arrive, ignore the red brick exterior, wait until you go inside to fully appreciate the great ambience this hotel has to offer!
The receptionists are always smiling, professional and helpful and make you feel welcome. All the bedrooms are of a high standard, clean and functional with tea and coffee making facilities; the bathroom has plenty of toiletries and all rooms have air conditioning.

Now for the food and restaurant service:
As part of the murder mystery weekend, we receive the same food as the guests, which allow us to judge the standard of service and quality. Whether you are staying here on business or pleasure, on a residential package or just going to the George Albert for dinner or lunch, you will not be disappointed. The red wine was first class and served at the right temperature and the white wine was provided in an ice bucket, away from the table, as you would expect in any high class establishment.
All of the food was well cooked, well presented and of a very high standard with an impressive selection even on the bar menu.

The public toilets are also worth a mention as they are so clean, modern and also have air conditioning - what more can you ask for?
In closing, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to you for any occasion or simply somewhere to go where you can be assured of a hospitable welcome and leave knowing you have received value for money.

I stayed here as part of a work function and had a great time. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely. I feel I should say a special thank you to paul and sean who had to put up with all of us in the bar until the early hours. The hotel room was fantastic as well, cannot fault it at all. I know all of us had a brilliant time and would happily recommend to others.

Stayed here for one night for a function. Comfortable modern hotel, built in 2010, which had a friendly, homely feel as its not too big, with 39 rooms. The rooms are of a good size with the biggest bed I have ever slept in! Beds are comfortable, not too hard or soft. There is plenty of storage with a good sized wardrobe unit and plenty of drawers under a large desk. A flat screen tv with freeview channels and a round table with 2 chairs are also provided. In a cupboard you will find a tray with tea and coffee making facilities consisting of a kettle, 2 cups, and the usual mixture of tea bags, coffee, milk pots etc. A hairdryer is provided which was powerful and hot. The bathroom is a good size with a bath and shower, the shower was very nice and simple to use. Very clean room and bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included in the price and it was of a buffet style. The staff ask you which drink you would like as you enter and bring either a big teapot or coffee pot with ample milk in a jug. More than enough for 2 cups each and refillable if u ask. There is a choice of hot food, bacon, sausage, scrambled or fried eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding. Bread is provided and 2 large toasters should you wish to have toast. OJ,apple juice, cranberry juice, and iced water is provided in jugs, a choice of cereals and pastries. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay, wish it had been longer. A car is definately needed if you plan to stay here to tour the area as it is about half way along the A37. Our room was out the back and was very quiet but there was not much of a view as it looked out onto the clay pigeon centre next door. The views to the front are much more spectacular, overlooking the beautiful contryside. The function was good, the food was nice and the disco provided by the hotel was good too. Would definately recommend this to friends and family.

We stayed her for a week, using it as a base to tour sites in Dorset, very comfortable, spacious rooms. Staff very helpful when I needed info on family history for the area.
We had terrific weather for March mists rolling down the road and hillsides so we missed a lot of the lovely views which are so close to this location but when there was a break it was fantastic. On a main road so be careful pulling out but otherwise wonderful stay.
Breakfast in the mornings very good, bar menu sufficient for evenings, but a posh resturant for those who want to go the extra mile.
We were intent on seeing as much of the area so visited a number of places around the area, missing out on the resturant but the menu looked great.
Now I've found it I will return for more famly history visits.

Very high quality stay - room extremely spacious (especially the bathroom!), newly kitted out with a clean, modern feel. Bed was large and very, very comfortable. Plenty of space to do some work and watch telly in comfort. Good value using lateroooms.com (I can't comment on whether it would be good value at the full rack rate). The location is good - very easy to find just off the main road running down through west Dorset (though far enough back to be quiet). It is in the middle of the countryside with views off in all directions. Would recommend highly.

Room Tip: My room was lovely, but my colleague had the room 'over the boiler house' which apparently was noisy - so I suggest you add a request on booking to avoid that one!
