I have just returned from a 5 night stay in this stunning building and can, hand on heart, say I will be back as soon as I can. I was in Phoebe room, set out as a twin room, staying with my mum. Mum has mobility problems, so we were immediately offered the ground floor room when it came available on our second night, however, on seeing the view from Phoebe, there was no way we were moving rooms!

The room was beyond comfortable and I slept like a baby. High quality bed linens & furnishings; the towels in the bathroom were also fantastic quality. All linens were white, and I mean white. No washed out, grey threadbare rubbish here. The room was also spotless. Absolutely no complaints. The little touches, as others have said, such as the fridge stocked with cold drinks, bottled water and fresh milk; the homemade biscuits looked divine (It's just a shame I didn't get to try them as I am allergic to nuts!) were just the cherry on a very tempting cake.

Breakfast was no mean feat, cereals, fruit salads made fresh daily, yogurts, fresh home squeezed orange juice; then there was the beautiful home made bread toast with home made raspberry jam or marmalade. Don't get me started on the cooked aspect - I don't think I will eat for another week! Everything was locally sourced.

Anne & Andy were the perfect hosts, from the afternoon coffee/tea with homemade cream scones on arrival, to the hug on the last day on checking out. They were attentive, but not overly so, and really made you feel at home. There is a small library of books and dvd's to borrow for your room that you just help yourself to. They are also happy for you to help yourself to crockery and use the dining room or your room at night if you wanted to bring a takeaway, and will simply clear up after you. This little touch is something I have never experienced before.

Anne & Andy, all I can say is 'thank you'. You made what was designed to be a nice break away from it all into a very special and memorable stay. I would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone.

Ellie & Janet, Leicester.

Room Tip: If you want a "wow" factor to your room, choose Phoebe - the view simply took my breath aw...

"Perfection" - Aristotle defined this as - "So good that nothing could be better". He must have been thinking of the unique Minadab Cottage and the excellent hosts Ann and Andy. What more need we say - nothing was too much trouble for them, they made us feel almost more at home than being at home, and the considerate small touches, mentioned in other reviews, demonstrate why they deserve all of the praise that we, and others are so pleased to give them. This was our second stay. We came for a few days in feb but this time brought my disabled mum with us. She is lacking in confidence since her mobility has been so reduced and was made to feel really welcome. We were met with Anne's customary cream tea and given a tour of the rooms. Mum had the ground floor suite and we had a lovely double upstairs. The rooms are beautiful and decorated to such a wonderfully high standard. Home made bread biscuits and jam add to the charm and breakfast fills you up until mis afternoon. Highly recommended x

Another lovely stay in the charming Minadab Cottage. This is our third stay and the place is as cosy and welcoming as ever. If anything it is getting better, as Anne and Andy are constantly trying to improve the visitor's stay. Rooms are cosy, with fresh local organic milk in the fridge for your tea or fresh coffee ... to go with the homemade biscuits! The breakfasts are excellent with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad and breakfasts cooked to order using local ingredients. All this in an intimate, unique building full of history.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay and the minidab has everything you need from a b&b and more. A couple of highlights include a warm welcome from Anne complete with afternoon tea as well as beautiful homemade biscuits in the bedroom.

The owners couldn't do more for you giving you lots of tips for where to visit locally as well as letting us store our bikes in their garage.

A thoroughly enjoyable 2 night break ran by owners who couldn't do mor for you x

Thanks so much Anne and Andy for the outstanding service, from the welcoming cream tea to the comfortable room and bed to the heavenly breakfast. We loved your home made biscuits and other welcoming features in our room including the fridge with fresh milk to go with the huge selection of drinks. Everything was spotlessly clean and all equipment of very high standard. The recent refurbishments of this historical cottage have been carried out to high specification and in keeping with the character of the cottage. The fact that Anne loves cooking shone through with the home made bread and jams and the high chef touch to the delicious cooked breakfasts (vegetarian choice to be recommended). Add to this the genuine friendliness and desire to make the stay the best possible by Anne and Andy and you have the perfect bed and breakfast. Thanks so much for an outstanding stay. :D
