We've drunk here on our holidays for the last two years. Great situation with lots of outside tables overlooking the inland beach. This year it was very, very hot and therefore very, very busy but we were less than impressed with the attitude of the (male) bar staff. I know it was busy but the job of bar staff is to serve their customers with a smile.

We have been to the Ship before in winter and returned recently for a beer in the sun, There is a nice view of the Teign estuary from the outside tables though we could not help but think that the outside area could easily have been made more attractive. 2 of us decided to have pints of the St Austell Tribute, which we drink on a regular basis. The Tribute at the Ship tasted a bit sour and it was rather cloudy, though not quite enough to send back. There seems to be no excuse, apart from the heat, for beer in this condition at a time of year when the turnover should be high with the sunny weather.

If you want to sit outside, which is right on the harbour, then you best get there early - though they don't actually serve food before 12:00 (well not on a friday anyway). Good selection of drink, nice coffee, simple but well good pub fare with some of the nicest chips I've had in ages. A really nice place to sit in the sun and enjoy the fabulous view.

the perfect location with atmosphere to be envied by any trader! Food very good too! Located on Teignmouth's "back-beach" this is a very vibrant and friendly place to go.
