Always loved this place and keep going back whenever visiting the family in Teignmouth. Small pub set on the Back Beach and estuary of the River Teign. Always packed out in the summer and a great atmosphere to sit or stand out side and enjoy a few beers.

Really recommend this for its atmosphere with a great combination of good traditional pub but with good eatery too. Good food and range of local real ales. Staff were efficient and attentive but without being intrusive. Definitely on my list to visit again and a worthy of anyone else's list too!! We went on a dull winter evening so couldn't benefit from the estuary but the setting is superb and on a summer's evening sitting outside looking over the beach and harbour would be tremendous.

During a recent working visit to Devon I was lucky enough to discover the Ship Inn in Teignmouth. Set on the river bank and close to the sea, the pub has a great nautical atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, good well kept beer and excellent food.
The chef-ess is a star, try her variations on local food and her excellent Sunday roasts.
A place to savour and return to !!!!!

6 of us ate there yesterday, very busy for a February Saturday, but service was friendly, a good range of real ales and the ham egg and chips were excellent, in fact the chips were just about the best I've had anywhere! Proper home made, golden fluffy, tasty examples of what a chip should be. If you are looking for a proper pub with no airs and graces in a great position then this is the place for you.

We visit the Ship often. It is in a lovely location on the back beach at Teignmouth. It is a basic pub with lots of nautical nick knacks there. It's friendly and can be quite crowded at times as its popular with locals and visitors, but I does have a gallery dining area as well as the main pub. Have always found the service good, but they do get busy and at those times may be a bit stretched. The food is of good quality, and is better than standard pub grub. Lots of fish dishes. The downstairs bar area is dog friendly, always a bonus for us dog owners. Best of all is the view and to sit outside by be sea.
