“Huge portions. Right on the seafront.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

You really can't beat this place. On a sunny day you can sit across the road on the prom. If its raining the big windows shield you while you look at the sea. Enormous portions of very good food.

“Vegetarians welcome?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

This is a great place with good food well served. My only gripe is the lack of choice for vegetarians. Once again Teignmouth doesn't seem to have anyone who is willing to 'think outside the box'. There's a wide range of vegetarian dishes out their but in Teignmouth it usually boils down to a cheese bagette - or maybe a pasta dish (again with cheese). Considering the Beachcomber's great menu for meat eaters I would have thought that the chef could have come up with some more imaginative and tempting vegetarian dishes.
My wife and girls loved it (all meat eaters) so perhaps mine is a lonely voice.

“First visit but not my last”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

We have been visiting Teignmouth for many years and even though we have walked past this restaurant we have never been in. Tonight we decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed. Had lovely crispy (maybe too crispy for some?) baguettes with chips and side salad and an amazing white hot chocolate with cream, flake and marshmallows! The place was clean and the waitresses were friendly. A lovely place with a fantastic view. We will be back.

“A good place to eat with lovely views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

Treated our family to brunch here - 2 of the group had full english breakfasts and the rest of us had waffles with fruit. Food was very nice, tasty, well presented and good value for money. The only real problem we had was when we went up to order the food. Most of us wanted smoothies which unfortunately take a bit of time to get ready. Instead of taking our payment and then offering to bring the drinks over, the waitress started to get them done as we waited. I can see the point because you would just end up serving everyone and then ending up with a huge number of people waiting at their tables for drinks. Anyway, one of our drinks was taken from the waitress getting it ready, by another waitress who was serving the person behind us in the queue - didn't have any major problem with that, it sort of made sense, but what really annoyed me was that our waitress was being very careful to make the drinks to the clearly regulation size. However, the drink we ended up with that was prepared by the other waitress was considerably smaller than the one we should have had that was given away to another customer. So his gain was our loss. I didn't say anything at the time because our waitress was clearly hassled by having to get so many drinks ready, but it annoyed me. Apart from that the place was clean and tidy, a much improved venue from years back and we would certainly try it again for a treat, but choose different drinks this time.

“You can't beat this place!”

I would come here time and time again, for a beach time cafe menu and proficient staff that always have a smile, it's the best!
I have noticed whenever there is a quite spell the staff are busy cleaning which really puts your mind at ease to see( includes the restrooms/toilets ).
Always a great selection of fresh homemade cakes and pies. I never seen some of the recipes and they all look and taste wonderful.
Myself am a catering Manager and would quite happily recommend this Restaurant.
