“Probably - The Best Seaside Cafe in Devon”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

Stayed local for a week and found this place on the first day. Glad we did as we went a number of times and really enjoyed the food there. Inside the cafe is modern and spotlessly clean. Food quality was really good and I would definitely recommend a visit & will return. Nice friendly staff, good food and little extras that you can see someone is making an effort - unlike alot of other businesses. The cafe is right on the sea front and a good spot to stop for a coffee and snack/cake. Prices are average and not excessive. Seemed to be the busiest place in Teignmouth. Real pleasure.

“Busy - for all the right reasons”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

Called by for a lunch on a day trip to Teignmouth - the cafe was very busy and when we ordered, we were told there would be a wait of about 25 minutes. About ten minutes later our food arrived - crab sandwiches - which were outstanding and well worth the wait! We do like busy places - it means they are doing something right - and the Beachcomber is certainly providing good food at reasonable prices.

“Very Average Food Long Wait”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

We visited on quite a busy lunch time but waited 1hr 20 mins for fish and chips and a jacket potato. No response from waitress when asking where our food was. I have eaten here a few times, it is fine for a coffee and good home made cake for quality of food is poor especially the childrens meals, very cheap sausages, greasy food, fish fingers mostly batter.

I think they should stick to coffee, cakes and sandwiches.

Thank you for your review. We welcome fair criticism and having investigated your complaint are somewhat puzzled by it on various counts. With respect to waiting 80 minutes for two meals, this seems completely atypical especially without word or explanation from a member of our waiting team. I would like to reassure you that we pride ourselves on good customer service and would never ignore any customers' comments. I would also add that we only offer Westaways Award Winning Premium sausages which have a minimum of 80% lean meat.

Finally, with reference to some fish fingers we do not now and never have sold fish fingers.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your coffee and home made cakes, our coffee is deemed to be outstanding by our regular customers and our home made cakes are simply delicious! We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to The Beachcomber Cafe at some point in the future and feel certain that you will be impressed with a very different experience.
