Description: The freshest ingredients sourced from the best local suppliers. A relaxed, waterside atmosphere where you can sit back and relax. Service that's memorable for all the right reasons. At Amelies, Porthleven and sister company Gourmet Picnics we share the same ethos which runs through everything we do. Come and experience it for yourself. Please note in the winter season we do close on a Monday day and Tuesday day, re-opening Tuesday evening.

I won a competition for Amelie's and there wasn't a time limit I needed to use it as Sam the owner was incredibly helpful and genuine. It was timed perfectly as it was for a Sunday which was mine and my boyfriends anniversary. Was an amazing atmosphere when I was greeted at the door with a handshake from the owner. Live music was playing and everybody was just in a good mood. The menu had a few options that were all really hard to choose from!! The food was full of flavour and left my taste buds tingling. The service at times was quite slow but that didn't matter as it gave time for the food to settle. It's an absolutely excellent value for money and the different deals they do on different days is an excellent idea and we will definitely be returning. Was more keen on the starter and the main but the dessert wasn't to my liking. Overall a lovely atmosphere with an incredibly welcoming owner. Also a beautiful view and surrounding!!

A sad occasion for us as we are moving away from Cornwall :-( But we WILL come back. As always a wonderful meal, beautifully cooked and presented and welcoming, friendly staff. Congratulations to Sam and team -- and they are now doing weddings! Definitely a restaurant to come back to time and again.

Charming waitress gave us a warm welcome and a choice of tables & took our order, we had baked camembert on a bed of melon very nice, then the stuffed roulade of chicken with a Diane sauce with mashed potato and fresh asparagus - fabulous, but served on cold plates so only just warm! Why do restaurants keep getting this wrong - its just common sense that your food stays hotter on a hot plate. I mentioned it to waitress no 2 who cleared our plates & she said that it was most unusual but I notice that no waiting staff used cloths to carry out the food so not unusual I would say. We decided to leave a tip as the quality of the meal was good overall and the service. I was disappointed waitress no 2 took our money from us but didn't feel she could say goodnight in reply to our goodnight - we had mentioned the cold plates in a good natured way. So only 4 stars.

Beautiful position on the side of the harbour with friendly staff & pleasant detour, menu was inviting & we started with the Camembert (deep fried ) with melon! Was not sure that the combination would work but it did!
Main course was chicken roulade with a mushroom sauce & this was delightful!
It's been a couple of years since we visited here & we were pleased to note that it was as good as ever!
Well worth a visit.

We had a fab meal at this restaurant, the atmosphere was great even for a damp and cold night in Cornwall! The building has been well restored and it's a good place for a crowd as the venue is big.
